“Good Old Fashioned Banana Split!”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

My husband and I enjoyed our delicious banana split with a huge crowd of people doing exactly the same and having a nice time people watching. It was surprising how many were out this late eating ice-cream and even more that the place accommodates such a crowd and no waiting for a place to sit! Staff was extremely busy but organized and even the busboys were friendly and not "burned out" by this tourist attraction. This brand is delicious, not necessarily extraordinary compared to other ice creams and definitely not cheap! This is not a museum altho you can watch part of the chocolate process set up for the tourist to view as you eat. Yes, you can get chocolates cheaper at Walgreen's and Costco, but the holiday selection is better at the Mother Lode!

“It's not just chocolate”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

This is a review written by a girl who visited Ghirardelli during Lent and couldn't partake in any overt acts of sugar. It's a tragedy! Even though I had to stand by while my friend enjoyed her free samples along with mine, I still had a great time. The square is dotted with unique shops full of cool (and mostly affordable) things. How unique are the things? Well, I found a lovely tote and, when I took it the counter to buy it, the sales clerk excitedly informed me that he had made the bag. It's his side business. Now I love it even more! I hope that my next visit can include chocolate but the small shops on the square are enough to make me want to come back again!

“YUMMY!”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

We went to the one close to Fisherman's Warf. There are a couple of other places where you can buy Ghirardelli chocolates in the city. But, if you want to eat at the soda fountain, this is where you want to go. We got the hot fudge sundae. YUMMY! It is big enough for two people or one. Again YUMMY! It's worth the visit. You can also see how they process the cocoa beans and make their chocolate. Of course they have a chocolate shop to buy a little something to take home.

“Fun!”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Always a great stop when visiting Fisherman's Wharf! We love Wattle Creek Winery and always stop by for a wine tasting. It's also fun (and delicious) to go into the Ghirardelli stores and totally awesome that they give you chocolate when you walk in.

“A must see for Chocolate Lovers”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

If you love chocolate you must go here. If you are staying downtown take the Cable Car all the way to Fisherman's Wharf and walk to the square. When you walk into the store they will give you a square of chocolate. Be prepared to want to buy a lot of sweets. Make your way to the make to see the chocolate vats. Also, make sure you visit the other stores in the square. We had a great time.
