“Must go with a guide”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2014

We went on the free walking tour of the bridge and it was fascinating. Though there are many informative boards at the Plaza on the SF end, we gained so much more by having a local tell us all about it. Thank you, Dan.
PS Beware of the cyclists. As our guide said they are either serious pros who don't like meandering tourists or people who have not been on a bike for 20 years and who have just hired their bike 10 minutes ago !

“Awesome!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2014

Went up to the top of the fort below the bridge and the height was scary and beautiful at the same time. Got to see the lighthouse up close. Windy!!

“Must do!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2014

Just like Cable Cars and Alcatraz (sorry no review for this as did this a couple years ago with no review), driving across the bridge is a must do! This year when we drove across, we thought it was great there were no tolls...until we saw the credit card bill that hit us for $31.75 for rental car charges on the PlatePass for driving across! What! It is quick to get over that charge as it is worth it to drive up a street and stop for the amazing view of the bridge and city.

“Tons of places to take photos, cheap parking-- yay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2014

We drove over to the Golden Gate Bridge hoping to be able to take pictures. There's cheap and easy parking in multiple lots ($1 an hour, free after 5 P.M.) and several vantage points to photograph the bridge at all angles. The bridge has a pedestrian path and a biking/jogging lane; you can also rent a bike. Gorgeous; don't miss this! Bathroom lines, though, are horrific.
