A must-see in San Francisco. Walking across the bridge is a great experience, with beautiful views looking back onto San Francisco. The walk is 1.7 miles each way & quite windy, so wear comfortable shoes & take a jacket.

Bike or ride across, we biked across. Beware of he "local" bikers they all think they are recreating the Tour de France.

Had taken a cruise as part of the San Francisco city tour. Amazing once in a life time experience. At noon in the scorching sun we were shivering because of the cold winds blowing across the sea.Wondered and admired the beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge which in fact has withstood the test of time.Sight of Alcatraz at a distance in the mid sea is worth a glance. My visit to San Francisco is a memorable one because of the Golden Gate Cruise..

We walked across and back (approx 3 miles I think). We felt very safe. The views are beautiful! It is windy though so bring a hoodie.

We got on one of those hop on hop off buses and drove across to the other side and then we walked back across and then got back on the next bus, it's a great experience that everyone simply must do. We went on a bright sunny warm day so a T shirt was fine but I'd imagine that in any other weather you'd need a jacket as it can get quite windy.

Just do it.!
