Read about this in a guide book and it did not disappoint. Lovely old arcade games and amusments. Maybe the most fun we had for $10 :)

“Musée Mécanique”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2014

I'd never been to the museum, even after repeated trips to San Francisco and the Wharf so, this time around I made a point to check it out.

While it may not engage your young travelers for very long, there is something for just about everyone in the museum - even if it's just a foot massage on the Footsie Wootsie machine! Best 50 cents I spent the entire trip. :-)

We spent about an hour in the museum on our first trip there. A few days later, we found ourselves back again because the first trip had been so amusing. Be sure to interact with as much as you can. Some of the older machines were the most delightful - especially the Praxinoscope built in 1884 as an early animation device which shows a young girl skipping rope. Loved it.

Admission to the museum is free, but a donation box is near the front door (in case you feel like it). Definitely worth a side trip if you find yourself at Fisherman's Wharf.

“Fun Family Visits”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014

I miss the old location of the marquee, but the newer location offers more attractions in the nearby vicinity. Our family always enjoys the musee and taking part in the old attractions.

“Great time had”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014

We popped in here while walking along the sea front.

There are so many games here. There was lots of people on them, but still plenty of games to go around.

We only played on one, but had a great time watching other people.

Great for free
