The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California, is a marvelous structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. If you enjoy architecture, don't miss this icon of the area. It was rebuilt in 1965, and renovation of the lagoon, and a seismic retrofit were completed in early 2009. It is like entering into another world and another age. Wonderful place for a picnic with Gold Gate Bridge nearby.
