We grabbed a couple of coffees and went here to walk around grounds early on a Tuesday morning. I highly recommend going early in the morning to avoid all the tourist buses that show up around 10ish or so. They all showed up just as we were leaving so we basically had the whole place to ourselves except for one or two joggers.
There are no words to describe how beautiful it is. It was cool and windy with a bit of cloud coverage. It was perfect. Upon walking up to the rotunda I stopped and my eyes welled up with tears - it is truly magnificent. We stood in the middle of the rotunda both of us just taking in every detail and at that's when he proposed! There was no one around - it was incredibly romantic.
If you're visiting San Francisco, make sure you take some time to go walk around the grounds. It's well worth it. If you live in SF then you are incredibly lucky!More
