I admit I still don't know what purpose this lovely site serves, but it's still a nice walk through before heading to the bridge park. Some science information offered for the kiddos I think, since there was an outdoor exhibit on clouds when I was there that didn't exactly entice me (as an adult) to go into the small adjacent bldg. Lovely neighborhood off Chestnut and easy access so go!

We rode bikes all over the presidio that day and the Palace was a nice place to rest. Always fun for us to see former World Fair sights.

We made a special effort to visit because we never made it on our last trip. It is well worth the effort! The gardens, lake and the buildings are very impressive - this would be a great picnic spot. Built in 1915 for the Exposition, it should be on every visitors list of things to do. If you are up for a walk, the Golden Gate bridge is about 2 miles away (or rent a bike).

Went to view a Hula Show that was choreographed by Kumu Hula (Hula Master) Patrick Makuakane's Halau (Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu) on Oct. 20. It was great, including a chant/dance for President Obama as a citizen born in Hawaii, "The Birth".
