“Came here accidentally.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

I come to SF every time that family comes in to town to visit. We had several kids that needed to go to the bathroom and this was the first place we came upon. While waiting we started roaming around the museum looking at the displays and listening to the stories. We went across the street to where the boats are and were surprised at how little it cost to go on the boats. We ended up spending about 2 hours here. We had 9 kids total ranging from 4-16 years old and we all had a good time. I would recommend this to anybody.

“A trip back in time on the high seas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

This is a great park! Aside from touring the historic ships, be sure to stop by the Visitors' Center across the street. It may not look like much from the outside, but it offers an in-depth tour of San Francisco's development and changing role as a seaport over the years. This is a major highlight for us when we visit S.F. There is a charge, but seniors can pay a one-time fee for a lifetime National Parks Pass that's good here and throughout the U.S. Really a great bargain for the incredible sights you get to see!

“no displays, 12 pictures on wall”

DIsappointed, expected a museum found a semi empty building with a view of the pier.
Allow 5 - 10 minutes, good bathroom stop.

“Really interesting”

A good way to convey the history of ships. Very good way to learn about life on the various boats. The old WPA bathhouse has some excellent murals and the terrazzo tile floors are worth viewing.

“A Great Museum with Various Boats”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013

This is a great museum especially since it has a variety of sailing vessels including ferry, tug, and one used to move items such as lumber, salmon, and ammunition during WW II. Also there is an inside part of the museum across the street. Our grandkids enjoyed doing the jr ranger program.
