Wife and I decided to visit the Exploratorium on a recent visit to San Francisco. We got there about 11 and it was crowded with kids. There is so much to see there that it doesn't matter that there are a lot of kids there - they are well behaved and add to the enjoyment of the place.

at about 12:30 we decided to take a break for lunch and we walked to Mission and Stewart (about 1.5 miles) and ate at Yank Seng. We think they have the best Dim Sum in SF. Only thing is it was $50 lunch. We walked back and stayed at the Exploratorium until closing - 5 pm. We then walked to the Nordstrom shopping center on Market street - about 1.5 to 2 miles. We were tired when we got there.

Stayed a while then took a Lyft back to our hotel, Cow Hollow in the Marina district. Very convenient and cheap. We shared our ride and it was no inconvenience at all. Ate dinner at Blue Barn on Steiner just down the street. Very interesting place and good for vegetarians like us. There's a Vegan place right next door but it closed a 8 pm.

Very fun time for adults or kids. My girlfriend and I went at night (it was an adults only night). A whole day could easily be spent there, the place is huge. Exhibits were very educational and interesting

And we thought we knew how things were developed and worked but even in our elderly years we learned a lot here and it was all presented in a way suitable for all the family

We were all adults & had a great time. Beginning with a drinking fountain in a toilet there were many, many unusual things to do. It would keep kids and adults entertained for hours. We had so much fun & wished we had allowed more time because we weren't able to do everything we wanted to. I would recommend it for anyone looking for something different to do.

Little kids love the interactive exhibits. Teens can grapple with stimulating games. Old geeks find excellent physics everywhere. Even classes on field trips can effectively participate without disrupting the flow for others. An excellent time and a must day for kids.
