“Not bad, but a little overpriced...”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

First the positives:

Great complimentary breakfast (I had 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 pieces of toast and a cup of coffee - all included), the staff at the breakfast was very friendly and attentive, good wi-fi, comfortable beds, and a nice bathroom. I had a beautiful 3rd floor view of the river and the sunset.

Negatives:

The BW guide stated that this hotel was 1/8 of a mile from the North Quincy "T" stop. 1/8 of a mile should be covered in no more than 3 minutes. However, it was a solid 15 minute walk. Now, I don't normally mind a 15 minute walk but not when you have luggage and a backpack as well. It's more like 1/2 mile. Also, the room was fairly noisy. The next door room (which was attached to mine via a party door) had a lady staying in it that talked on her cell phone for a solid 2 hours. You could hear EVERY word she said.

I got the govt. rate for the room so it wasn't as expensive as it could have been but I still think $125 or so (which is what I paid with taxes and everything) was a little high for what you get at this property. Id still stay here again though if I had to be in the area.

Room Tip: Top floor with a river view.

I hummed that old Kingston Trio MTA song as we drove in circles trying to find a way into this hotel. Sure, we could see it, but there is no right turn to get in. Neither of our GPS devices could figure it out. The hotel posts a sign on their property giving you a clue, and there is another small sign at the bottom of the ramp, but if you are like me, you will speed past those signs once or twice. The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms are warm and inviting, the restaurant is very good and quite reasonable, but if you booked this place for the free shuttle, you could be in for a surprise. In our case, the 4AM was full. We had a 6:20 flight, so taking the 5AM was calling it too close. Their suggestion was that we take a cab to the tune of $39.50 (tip included). Had I known that the shuttle was a maybe and not a given, I could have put that $39.50 towards another hotel closer to the airport. While the receptionist apologized, she did not offer so much as a discount card for dinner...though they gave them for the breakfast we would not be eating. I have to visit Boston regularly, and will be looking for someplace else to stay.

The quality of the facility is only fair which makes it over priced. For the most part, they offer just double beds instead of queen-size beds. It felt more like a Motel 6. They get by with charging more than the quality merits because of the lack of competition in the immediate area.

Good value for your money. Breakfast is served to table with several choices only. Kids might be disappointed. Great view only from one side of the hotel, ask for the riverside when making reservation. Entering with car is tricky, the Hotel is on the right so watch for BW small sign on the left when driving from Boston. You have to go around left by first traffic light.

Spent 8 nights at the Adams Inn. The staff is very nice and always willing to help. The continental breakfast was hot and had many choices to choose from. The beds were not too comfortable, and the shower barely had any pressure, but it was a quiet hotel. They have a very strict policy about noise after 10pm. The restaurant in the hotel was nice as well. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived tired from an early morning long flight, but were immediately greeted by polite, helpful people. The room was ready, and clean and inviting. We ate lunch in the café, and the food was good and the service excellent. Our room was quiet, the shower great, and our rest was complete. The complimentary breakfast could be chosen from a menu of four choices, and I found one just to my liking, and my husband found one to his. Overall this was a superior hotel experience. We will stay here again.

We were looking for an affordable stay in the Boston area and found Adams Inn. Being from the Mid West, I was hoping for more friendly staff, but that might be hard to find in that area. Loved the tour trolley that comes to the hotel. It was about a mile to the T and would have appreciated rides to this area from the hotel. Beds were hard and there was a musty smell in the halls and rooms. Nothing terrible, but for the price, I would have liked more.
