“A Fun Walk through History”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Tour the cemetery during the day, ideally with a guide who can show you the specific points of interest. It's a convenient location just across Hancock St. from The First Unitarian Church and a short walk to the MBTA subway line.

“A Peaceful resting place”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

We searched for ancestral graves in the Hancock Cemetery while in Quincy. The setting is right downtown in Quincy close to the national park office and places to eat. It is so interesting to view and read inscriptions on historical graves and this is a lovely and peaceful resting place. John and Abigail Adams' family members are buried here along with many other notable patriots.

“Saw a New Tomb Twist”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

We strolled through this historic cemetery in about 30 minutes. There are many tombs built into the sides of the what look like man-made mounds along the perimeters of the cemetery. They seemed to be family plots perhaps. We noted the graves of many children, some from well-known family names associated with the area. The inscriptions and art work on the stones are pretty cool if you are a history buff.

“Beautiful old cemetary”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

Walking through this peaceful old cemetary was like revisiting history. The names on the simple stones jumped out at us--so many heroes of the revolution and early colonial history. This is a beautiful place to pause during your tour of revolutionary Quincy to drink in the feeling of peace and national pride that this place represents.
