“much better than any other Best Western”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2014

I was pleasantly surprised by this Best Western property. I guess its a family run franchise and the staff are very well behaved. The conditions of the room, bed, bathroom and supplies were all much better than any other best western I have stayed in.
The hotel serves an elaborate fair of morning breakfast and that is definitely of one of the main draws.
Location wise it has got is pros and cons. Its conveniently close to Hulk's cove (one of the first and (lesser interesting)points of interest in the famed Acadia National Park. Its also close to the main Park entrance from the Highway 3 Bar Harbor side.
But its not the closest hotel to downtown Bar Harbor. So, if you plan to walk to downtown or make quick trips too... then you may think about it.
Price: I wouldn't say it was too costly, but it wasn't reasonable either. A little on the higher side. However, given the fact that other (good) hotels in the area are expensive as well, and the stuff and amenities in this property is pretty good - I would recommend this hotel to others.

Dear Earn2Travel
Having read of your prior travels, I must say that I am very pleased to been described as "much better than other Best Western's." Certainly that compliment from a seasoned traveler such as you makes us very pleased ,as you must have stayed at many. We are very proud to fly the Best Western flag and we try very hard to keep up to the standards they set for us. Thank you very much for a great lift to our day! Please stay with us again when you return to Bar Harbor, Maine. Regards, Jane

We stayed at this Best Western at the last minute since our vacation plans were disrupted by a hurricane in our destination. Apparently it had affected this Bar Harbor area as well, and this was not only the only motel with vacancy (1 room to be exact!), it also was one of a few lodgings that had power for the night. It was a little pricey, but not surprising considering it was only about 6 miles from downtown Bar Harbor. Simply put this was a clean, well kept room, nice furnishings, with good amenities (microwave, fridge, TV and even an in-room safe), and comfortable beds. It included free wifi, free continental breakfast (not so good scrambled eggs though) and it did have an outdoor pool, though it was too late and too cold for us. Suite included separate bath-toilet/ vanity area, nice shower head, and good lighting all around. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We had #418, which was towards the back end and away from the pool area, which I suspect could get n...

On our most recent trip we stayed at multiple Best Western hotels in Connecticut, Vermont, and Maine. The one at Acadia was great. It was reasonably priced, it was close to one of the park entrances, and close to most of the island attractions. The staff was fantastic. Even when we got a late start our room was cleaned by the time we got back, even when we forgot to call. The staff at the front desk were friendly, helpful, and professional. The lobby was clean, and had a coffee for guest at all hours. The breakfast was great, compared to other hotel chains, I was extremely impressed by the selection and quality of the food. Best Western as a chain is on the top of my list for places to stay. The consistency in quality of the hotels is better than we had with other chains.

We drove in from White Plains, New York for a week stay. Front desk and staff are very friendly in every sense of the word. We were in room 107 and our housekeeper Logan made sure everything went great. Place is nice, clean and quiet. Laundry room was a plus for us since we were staying for a week. Breakfast is included but I'm more of an omelette/egg with meat type of person for breakfast. If egg and or meat is not your thing for breakfast then it should not be an issue. We ate out for breakfast three times out of the entire week because we were craving for Omelette. Overall, I had a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Thank you for your review and we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. Logan is a wonderful housekeeper and thank you for complimenting his work. I am a bit concerned that you did not find meat and eggs at breakfast. We do offer a hot egg item (besides hard boiled) either omelets or scrambled as well as a potato side such as home fries or hash brown patties every day. We have a meat side every day too, such as Canadian bacon, regular bacon, sausage patties or links and my personal favorite, honey maple kielbasa. Carole likes to mix it up so people do not tired of the same thing every day. I feel badly that you missed this! There are three Belgian waffle machines, too and of course fresh fruits and cereals and breads. Please come back again and we will fill you with eggs and breakfast meats!! Regards, Jane

We were a party of ten with young kids and this was a great place near town and the park with all the necessities that were included. We thought they provided a continental breakfast but it was actually a full hot breakfast included also. The staff were tremendous.

Its a good value for money. The room has all the amenities that one can look for in a luxury chain just that the quality is a bit toned down. Of course you cant complain that as you are not paying the luxury room rate. Breakfast is very good and is continental. Eggs, sausages, breads etc etc. Just that its not at the heart of bar harbor downtown and is around 10 mins drive which we didn't mind at all.

Thank you for stating that we offer a good value. We appreciate all reviews. The ride to downtown Bar harbor takes about 10 minutes and is scenic for the most part. Thank you for saying we are the "best" Best Western. We love our brand name and so happy to hear you feel that way! See you again soon I hope! Jane

Quaint, clean, cheerful; outstanding staff, always ready to make your stay comfortable and welcoming. Great breakfast, helpful breakfast persons; close to the park but not too far away. We stayed at BWs across the country and up-down the east coast. By far the best regarding staff, breakfast and afternoon/evening tea, coffee, cookies and popcorn. None of those high priced mini bars. Before we left, we booked rooms for next year same 4th of July weekend. See you then Jane and staff. Thank you!
