Best Western Acadia Park Inn
Ranked #9 of 41 Hotels in Bar Harbor
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 7, 2013

This place is an old fashioned outdated motel that is overpriced! Maybe it would be alright for a family on a budget who wanted to go to Acadia Park. Right now I have been sitting on a park bench for a shuttle for an hour and a half that the front desk told me ran every half hour! Now maybe that is the shuttles fault. I don't know. I would say if you are going to Bar Harbor pay the extra money and go stay in town

Dear Ms.Berry
I apologize for your inconvenience concerning the FREE shuttle bus. As you stated, this is indeed not our fault. We are not a designated stop, however; they are always kind enough to pick our guests up if they are in the correct location at the correct time. That must have been very frustrating for you.
Our motel is over twenty-five years old as is a very good part of most of the Bar Harbor accommodations. We are constantly updating and improving the interior of the rooms as well as the exterior of the five buildings that comprise our property. The majority of our reviewers love our clean rooms, friendly staff and our proximity to Acadia National Park and the surrounding naturalness of Maine witnessed in our serene setting. It is not unusual to see deer and other wildlife on a daily basis.
It is obvious that you would have preferred to be in the center of town and where the heft of the gift shops, restaurants, and constant activity is. We do have many fine sister-hotels in town that we would have loved to have recommended for you. We do hope that you will come back to Bar Harbor again. Thank you. Sincerely, Jane

This is the best experience we have ever had at a Best Western property. This is in a very quiet location outside of the frenetic Bar Harbor tourist area. You can take a free shuttle to both Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The room we stayed in was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff is very willing to help, in any way possible, to insure you have a wonderful experience. The continental breakfast goes far above your typical fare.We had wonderful chats with Carole, the breakfast hostess. She shared many tips on traveling in the area which saved us an enormous amount of time and trouble. We wish all

I cannot think of a better compliment than to be deemed your “best experience ever had at a Best Western property.” Thank you very much. We take customer care very seriously and want each and every guest to have the best experience possible. Carole is a true gem by any standards. Thank you for recognizing her. We also are happy that you appreciated the extras we provide in our continental breakfast menu. We sincerely hope that you are able to make a return visit. Warm regards, Jane

My family and I stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island, and Bar Harbor. The location was perfect; removed from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor yet only a couple of minutes away. The National Park visitors center is also very close. We were able to drive to the top of Cadillac Mountain in about 15 minutes from the hotel. The staff at the hotel are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast is the typical Best Western fare: cold cereal, make-your-own waffles, eggs, fruit, toast, etc. Overall the hotel was the perfect place as a base for our adventures.

Room Tip: This is a single story hotel and all the rooms are motel-style where your car is parked outside the...

We certainly love our location and it seems that you do as well. Thank you for highlighting some very important aspects of a traveler’s itinerary to which we are convenient. We enjoy all of our guests and want to please them. Our breakfast is staffed by Carole, a wondrous advantage for all of us. She knows the area inside and out and is always helpful plus, she puts out a splendid array of fruits, omelets, sausages or bacon, breads, cereals, juices and other breakfast items. Parking is plentiful here and we have no problem accepting motorcycles to tour buses. Thank you for your review and please come again. Jane

Stayed at the Best Western Acadia Park Inn for a family gathering. The price point was good. The room was super clean and the breakfast was great. There were staff at the breakfast who cleaned, filled, helped, and chatted. The staff at the desk were so proud of their property and could not have done more to go out of their way to be helpful and appreciative of my business. You rarely see that in a hotel. The grounds were well kept, extra towels, plenty of coffee and cookies in the lobby! I would go back.

Room Tip: There is no restaurant but the included breakfast had everything. Staff were friendly and appreci...

We are so pleased that you chose the BEST WESTERN Acadia Park Inn for your family reunion accommodations. We certainly do appreciate your business and we are very happy that you enjoyed your time here, rain or shine. We get very enthusiastic when sharing information on Bar Harbor all of the interesting things to see and do here that it can’t help but be noticeable that we love our area and its natural beauty. We do take great pride in our property and want every guest to enjoy all that it has to offer. While we do have three nearby restaurants and an ice cream shop within a quarter mile of us , it can be too much of a walk for many people. Thank you very much for taking the time to write this review and please come back again. Sincerely, Jane

We just left this hotel after a 3 night stay. Staff, from checking to breakfast room, were extremely friendly and helpful. They truly welcome you as if it were their home. Rooms were a pleasant surprise- larger than expected ( not huge) and very adequate. Also very clean. Breakfast was more than simple continental- had eggs, sausage, make own waffles, fruit, etc..only draw back is having to wait for place to sit as room not large enough for size of hotel.
Hotel is close enough to Acadia- about 3 miles, but the drive to and from bar harbor got old after first trip. It is far enough out to make it bothersome to go back and dry out before heading back out ( we had plenty of rain one day!). But It was certainly not a deterrent. My biggest complaint was the price. It was definately higher than similar hotels in the area, and those closer to town. Which I did not know until I looked at other sites once there...it was fine during the week but the up charge on the weekend was not worth the stay.

We so appreciate all the wonderful compliments you have given to us concerning your visit. We are situated 2 miles from the entrance to Acadia National Park and Visitor’s Center and 5 miles from downtown Bar Harbor. We are close enough for you to be there within 10 minutes but far enough away to be very a restful and peaceful respite after a day of activity in the park. It certainly did rain heavily one day during your stay and that undoubtedly was an inconvenience for you. I understand that this was the 6th wettest June in years.
We are competitively priced with comparable motels in our area and our facilities and amenities far surpass those nearest to us that do offer lower rates. Your stay did coincide with the time period when spring rates take a jump into our summer rates on June 28th. We do inform guests of any rate change they may encounter during their stay when they make the reservation as well as during check-in. I am sorry that you were unhappy with the shift into our summer season rates. We do hope you will make another return visit during the “off season” in early spring or late fall and enjoy lower rates while still experiencing all that Acadia and the surrounding area has to offer. Warmest regards, Jane

We stayed one night here on our way to Bar Harbor. They put us in one of their larger rooms. It was quite spacious with high ceilings. It was right next to the pool. The place was super clean, the staff was very friendly, and the free breakfast was good as well.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of the BEST WESTERN Acadia Park Inn. Our deluxe rooms do have higher ceilings and are larger along with being pool-front or very near to the pool. All have king beds and four have pull-out queen sized sofa beds, too. We are very pleased that you found all staff to be friendly and helpful, as they should and want to be. Our housekeeping department has earned BEST WESTERN I Care 2 status with exceptional cleaning practices including the use of The Pure Lite Ultra Violet Wand . Thank you for choosing the Acadia Park Inn for your lodging while in Bar Harbor. We hope to see you again soon. Jane

We spent 3 fantastic nights at the Best Western Acadia and we were pleasantly surprised to find people who actually love their jobs and who are willing to share their knowledge of the are with the people who stay there. The hotel is lovely, the breakfast is more than expected, the rooms are meticulous. I would return there again if I had the chance.
