Best Western Acadia Park Inn
Ranked #9 of 41 Hotels in Bar Harbor

Wonderful motel. Away from the overpriced hotels, inns as well as the congestion in Bar Harbor.
Was told this is an older property but it is very up to date. Large rooms, comfortable beds, refrigerator, flat screen TV.
Probably one of the best continental breakfasts with a hostess that knows all about the area - what to see, what to do, what it costs and how much time it takes. Carol is a gem.
Great restaurant close by (The Log Cabin) where you get excellent meals for much less than the downtown Bar Harbor restaurants.
Very convenient to Acadia National Park.

Thank you for your kind review of our property and amenities. We are very happy that you found us and we hope you are able to return next season. Our property is always being renovated in one aspect or another to keep our guests comfortable and happy. Our breakfast hostess, Carole, is a priceless gem indeed. We thank you for being our guest. (P.S. "Dessert on Mt. Desert" was clever.Everyone looks forward to dessert!)

Let me start by saying that there is nothing inherently wrong with this property, it's just that we were there in the off-season, and had booked online prior to our arrival: BIG MISTAKE. The hotel was $140 (with a AAA discount) for one night, and driving down Route 3 towards Bar Harbor, we saw many similar properties with signs advertising rooms for $60-$80.
Ok - now what it is, is a rural motel ... clean, with comfortable beds, a light breakfast in the morning, and wifi.
Nothing special, no views, thin walls (the people in the room next to ours returned at 1:00 AM, and we could hear their conversation word for word).
I would return - but not for the price they charged.

We appreciate your taking the time to review our property. There are some nearby budget motels that are in the price range you mentioned. However they have not been recently upgraded and they do not offer the amenities we offer, including our heated outdoor pool and our complimentary deluxe continental breakfast. We are priced competitively to other properties in the area that do offer similar amenities.
Our deluxe continental breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and in unlimited quantity, depending upon your appetite. It has been referred to as a "superb breakfast buffet" by many of our guests. The egg dishes (omelets, hard-boiled eggs, and egg white / veggie patties) as well as bacon or sausage makes our breakfast very popular.
We are located on a 12 acre property just 2 miles west of Acadia National Park and 4 1/2 miles from the center of town. Our location offers many a restful change from the hustle and bustle at days end. We hope to see you again.

We rented two rooms during the last week of August, which I think is one of the busiest times in Bar Harbor. The location is fairly convenient. The entrance to Acadia National Park is a couple of miles away. Bar Harbor is about 15 min away. There are other independent hotels that are closer. we chose this one since its part of a recognizable chain.

The rooms decor felt a little dated. But they were convenient as they had a fridge, microwave and coffee making items. The breakfast was good with a standard daily fair of cereal, coffee, juices, boiled eggs, omelette, sausages, breads, fruits, and yogurt. The lady who works in the restaurant is very friendly. She gave us some tips about the area.

There is a town shuttle to Bar Harbor, but we decided to use our car throughout.

The hotel generally met our expectations.

The property looks more like a motel - one-floor buildings off the main road to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor. However, the rooms are big, clean and modern. They have a frige, microwave and flat screen TV. There is a choice of 1king or 2 queen beds. We had the latter. The beds were good. The room also had a small table and couple of chairs, so having the meal in the room is possible. Breakfast is included and it is plentiful, but exactly the same every morning. Free wireless internet worked reliably.
Overall, I find it a good compromise if you want to be close to the park and Bar Harbor, have decent accomodations, but not pay top dollar. Finding parking in Bar Harbor was not difficult, even though we were ther at Labor Day weekend. One tip: for some reason our GPS did not find the hotel address. We had to call the hotel to get directions. We goot good directions and were told that GPS not finding it is the case with many. If you want to avoid calling from the road - lookup directions or call upfront.

Being motel style, the view from your room was straight into the parking lot, but that made it easy to unload and load the car. The room was clean and bed/pillows were comfy. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room.

At first I was a little disappointed how far out of Bar Harbor we were, but finding parking was no problem this time of year. We didn't use the shuttle because it goes down 1/2 service, so it was just easier to drive ourselves. Nothing was crowded at all, so we had no problems. The breakfast was great; bagels, toaster waffles, cereal, hard boiled eggs, omelets, sausage, fruit, yogurt, etc.

There were cheaper and closer places to stay, but this was just fine.

Parking right outside your room was a great benefit as my mother is handicapped (88 yrs old) The room was clean and quite. Breakfast which is provided every morning was wonderful. Acadia Park is just 3 miles down the road toward Bar Harbor. Everything is easy to reach and it is not at all congested like areas around a lot of the hotels

Room Tip: Sorry no restaurant but has a breakfast provided.
