This was an amazing vacation thanks Mark and his beautiful well-kept inn. Where do I begin? Mark greets you with a friendly smile and warm chocolate chip cookies. The porch is so cozy to sip wine and chat (there is a small refrigerator stocked with waters where Mark let us keep our wine and some appetizers). Our bed was high with the softest sheets and most comfortable pillowy mattress. I had amazing sleeps in that bed. And this might sound strange, but the room smelled so good, fresh and clean. Mark gladly made amazing recommendations to his favorite restaurants and even made reservations for us. Mache Bistro was delicious and so romantic. I can't say enough nice things about Mark. My husband had a broken foot at the time and Mark even left out a bucket with ice for him. So thoughtful! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful and cozy stay.

Lovely rooms in a lovely house. We stayed in Shore Pine Room and the bed was really comfortable. Room & bathroom spotless. Friendly host and lovely breakfast too. Good location as you can park up and walk into town for dinner at right. Great location to visit Acadia Park and Bar Habour.

My wife and I stayed at The Maples Inn (bed & breakfast) last week. Mark, the owner, is a very nice person and takes pride in his Inn and with the breakfast he serves. He also recommended us to several restaurants and helped us plan some of our events. Also, when we walked down the street, The Maples Inn was definitely the nicest looking building around. This was our first bed and breakfast and the only thing we didn't know was that there were no televisions. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing and we just stayed out longer at night. I only mention it if you normally watch the morning news, favorite shows, or sports events on tv even when you're on vacation. The Inn is a 5 to10 minute walk to the Bar Harbor tourist district with its shops and restaurants; a perfect location.

We stayed here for 3 nights while on a grand tour of New England during which we stayed in 11 different Inns and hotels and this was by far my favourite!!
It is a beautiful Inn with a fantastic Innkeeper, who served wonderful (if calorific breakfasts), in a brilliant location. What more could you ask for.

The rooms were beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean, with lovely soft bed linen.
Mark the Innkeeper was great, friendly, full of advice and recommendations, always on hand.

The location was great, on a quiet side street but just a short stroll from the centre of Bar Harbor with all it's shops and restaurants and the obligatory whale watching cruises. You are also a short drive from the beautiful Acadia National Park - I think you can also take buses from town. We were able to leave the hire car at the Inn for most of our stay and just walk around - though we had to leave the keys with Mark so he could shuffle things around within the limited parking.

There was always coffee and hot water available and from mid afternoon there are fresh cookies. A fridge of complimentary bottled water was also a big plus.

The guest sitting room and dining room were very elegant with a wide array of books available and soft music in the background.

We had a wonderful experience while staying at the Maples Inn. Mark the innkeeper was very helpful and very welcoming. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was wonderful.
The street was quiet but still very close to Main Street. You couldn't ask for a better location. You will not be disappointed if you stay at the Maples Inn.

We have been fortunate to be able to stay in some wonderful Inns and B & B over the course of years. But the Maples Inn is exceptional. Mark the Inn keeper makes the experience truly memorable. The Inn itself is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The rooms are cozy, very clean, with have great bedding and - sleep was easy. Mark is the ultimate host and offers a wealth of knowledge about the area - including restaurants. He is unimposing and makes "wickedly delicious" breakfasts and afternoon cookies. We can't wait for his Chicago Inn to open in the future.

The minute you walk in and meet the innkeeper, Mark you instantly feel at home.
Our room, the Silver Maple was very comfy, with the separate sitting room. Breakfast's
were delicious and you literally want for nothing at this inn. Walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor and most restaurants. Park your car and walk. When you have to leave you feel like you are truly leaving a friend.
