My wife and I spent one night here last week. All-in-all, we were pleased with our stay at the Manor House.

Positives:
-Good afternoon snacks during the afternoon tea. Lemonade and ice water were also available if you're not a tea drinker.
-Good location to the downtown area of Bar Harbor. It was only about a two block walk to get over to the north end of Main Street.
-Delicious breakfast.
-Plenty of common space within the house to spread out and relax.
-Lots of chairs on the front porch to relax on a nice day.
-Wi-fi available throughout the house as well as on the front porch.
-Comfortable room and decent sized bathroom area.

Negatives:
-We would consider staying again at the Manor House the next time we are in the Bar Harbor area; however, if we were to stay here again, I would request a room that faces away from the street. With the nighttime temperatures cooling off into the 50s, there was no need to run the central A/C; however, the room we stayed in (Room #6) had two windows that faced directly toward the street. We found that there was quite a bit of vehicular and pedestrian noise from the main road around the time we went to sleep. There are several guest rooms that face the main street, so be aware of this in your room selection.

We are two couples that just spent a week in Maine and found the Manor House to be an exceptional place to stay. The location is 2 blocks away from the main section of town and within walking distance to everything. We stayed in the Chauffeurs Cottage unit B and found it to be very comfortable. The room does not have TV but that didn’t matter to us as we don’t watch TV. The room has a very nice appointment of furniture and also had a gas fireplace which was very nice for the chilly evenings. Bathroom is standard size with plenty of hot water. Our friends stayed in one of the Garden Cottages and it was very comfortably decorated. They had a TV, small refrigerator and a gas fireplace. The grounds are very well manicured and the buildings are well maintained. Breakfast was very good and in the afternoon they would put out snacks, coffee and tea. Janie, the host that we usually talked to, was very helpful and made good recommendations. This is a very nice place and I would highly recommend it.

Great location and a wonderful B&B. The breakfast was homemade and delicious. Afternoon goodies, and refreshments were so tasty after a long day hiking in Arcadia National Park. The B&B was very clean and has beautiful landscaping and flowers on the grounds, which made it so pleasant to sit outside on the veranda in the afternoon and relax.

Great start to the visit with a friendly and helpful welcome from one of the staff (may only work weekends?). However, subsequent interactions with staff were not so friendly, not that they were bad, just uninterested. We had room 7 on the top floor. Clean, very comfortable and interesting, lovely for relaxing in. Good common areas and a gorgeous wrap around porch and grounds. Nice afternoon tea (cakes and drinks), but breakfast, although home made, was dissapointing for a B&B of this price. There was quite limited choice.

We arrived at the Manor House Inn in the late afternoon just in time for daily tea, and since it was a rainy day, it was the perfect setting. The tea service is set-up buffet-style so that guests may help themselves to either iced or hot tea and delicious home baked treats. There was also a fresh pitcher of ice water and lemonade as well. In the morning, the breakfast is also presented the same way, with cereal, juice, coffee, homemade oatmeal, a hot entree, etc. being offered every day. There was even a late evening snack - homemade Rice Krispies treats. The inn is very well run in that it has a very laid-back atmosphere, so it's wonderful in terms of being able to relax. The accommodations were lovely, and the inn felt very warm and cozy. It is also in a very convenient location within walking distance to the main Bar Harbor waterfront area - beautiful scenery, boating, shopping, restaurants. It's also a very short drive to Acadia National Park and other areas to explore on Mt. Desert Island.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Manor House Inn and have nothing but wonderful comments to share. Janie, the delightful evening manager, greeted us warmly when we arrived and in no time, we had been given a tour and all the necessary information to make us feel comfortable. The Inn is very well kept and decorated in a lovely Victorian style. I booked a little late and the only room available was small #2 with a sitting room/bath across the hall. Even though it was a petite room, the extra space across the hall gave us plenty of room to leave our suitcases and dress. There were lovely robes in the closet for our use although we never encountered anyone as we slipped back and forth across the hall. I was able to see some of the other accomodations while there and there are many lovely large rooms as well as several small cottages set among the lovely grounds. There is a little breakfast patio as well as a lovely gazebo set among the various buildings with gorgeous flowers everywhere and privacy also. There is a fabulous wrap-around porch with lots of old wicker chairs, settees and tables - the perfect place to partake of breakfast or relax after a busy day. Joyce, the cook, sets out a wonderful breakfast every morning. We enjoyed everything from quiche, sausage and bacon to coffee cake, peach crisp and pancakes with the most delicious Maine blueberry sauce ever! There is coffee available all day as well as tea served with more delicious tidbits in the afternoon. The Inn was a wonderful home away from home and everyone there made us feel very well taken care of.
Ken and Stacey are dedicated innkeepers who are busy on the property everyday and devoted to making their guests comfortable. When I felt a little warm one evening, a fan was produced immediately and Janie offered to put an ac unit in our window if we would prefer.....they had taken it out for another guest who preferred to open the windows. Now I call that service......and all with a smile!
The location of Manor House Inn is just perfect for walking to all the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor as well as the pier and the Shore Path - a don't miss! We will stay here again when in Bar Harbor.

This is a lovely busy Inn. Our room was large and well appointed with good facilities. Queen size bed was a little hard.

Excleent buffet style breakfast with delicious home cooked specials which changed everyday. Cook clearly took a pride in her cooking. The sit anywhere styel for breakfast meant that we chatted to people which eating our breakfast - this was really nice and we had some good conversations. The Inn also has a large porch perfect for evening drinks, although I have to say the weather defeated us on several occasions.

The Inn is well situated, just five minutes walk for the Harbour area and within walking distance of dozens of restaurants.

Parking a little tight at times, but we all seemed to squeeze in.
