My sister stays at Hampton Inns for frequent "flyer" points. She insisted we stay here. I like places that have local charm. This was away from the hectic downtown, quiet and peaceful. We had a view of the water and even saw a moose!
Chocolate chip cookies were good and room was clean and quiet. (The property is brand new) Water carafe with fruit in it downstairs was always full and kept us hydrated. In fact, we started doing the "fruit in the water" thing at home as part nostalgia and part delicious. Although we were not within walking distance of the town, it was a quick and frequent shuttle stop from the front door of the hotel.

We stayed here because I didn’t have the patience to weed thru dozens of local options to find somewhere good to stay in Bar Harbor. Well, I found something great! Up on a hill top with great ocean views (a few rooms have balconies but we were not able to snag one of those). Easy downhill walk into town (15-20 min) and then ride the Island Explorer back uphill (or ride both ways). It’s on route 2/Eden Street and almost last stop going into town, you will have to hit 5-6 stops to get back but it’s A short 10-15 mins ride tops. Then, you are also very close to an entry point in to Acadia NP. We drove up for Sunrise on Cadillac Mountain and it was only 15-20 min from hotel to parking lot. The hotel provides written instructions for how to get to many of the spots you will want to visit. The staff is very friendly and willing to assist with all requests. The breakfast buffet has tons of options and we ate both early and late and it was well stocked. Immaculate rooms — amazing considering the amount of traffic this place gets. Yes it’s expensive for a Hampton but for location and service, I won’t be looking for anywhere else to stay in BH — I will definitely go back here.
