The shore path is an easy walk along the shore of Bar Harbor, Maine. It runs from the warf at the bottom of Main and West Streets about 3/4 of a mile or so along the east coast of Mt. Desert Island. Its a well maintained, paved path and two people can easily walk side by side on it. There are multiple areas where you could walk or jump down to the water. The shoreline was mostly rocky and broken shell. There was no sand beaches in Bar Harbor. The weather was excellent and I was able to get several dozen really good pictures of boats passing and of the Porcupine Islands off shore. There is a short-cut trail back to Main St about two thirds of the way down, and the trail abrupltly ends at a side street behind the hospital at the far end of Main St. If you like a nice stroll in the good weather, with scenery to boot, the Shore Path is a nice way to spend an hour.
