Captain John was funny and very knowledgable. He held the attention of the children, as well as the adults.

We went on the Lulu Lobster boat tour and our expectations were exceeded. The captain was a wealth of info with a great sense of humor. It was much colder than I expected though so bring layers. A fog bank rolled in and visibility was minimal but he still got us close enough to see seals on the rocks. Sit near the front to be near the captain and the lobster trap but to also stay out of the cold wind. It might help to bring a hot beverage in a thermos. Despite it being warm on the island and even warmish kayaking in the nearby coves...the boat ride was freezing. There didn't seem to be bathrooms on the boat so be prepared.

Thank you for writing a very nice review. One small correction. Lulu is equipped with a marine "head" (bathroom). It is in the cabin below deck and is not visible to the passenger seating area. Although equipped with a bathroom, we prefer that it be used for emergencies as it is always easier to use the facilities on the pier next to my dock whenever possible before and after the cruise. Thank you again for submitting your generous and kind comments. Captain John Nicolai

Whether you have children with you or not, take this boat ride. Captain John is extremely knowledgeable about lobsters and the lobster business itself. He is a great advocate for the industry. We read other reviews on Trip Advisor and were not let down by everyone's kudos - it really is a great time!

Had fun learning about lobsters and seeing the seals. We also saw a blad eagle! Captain was very knowledgable about all the sights we saw, including the lighthouse. I am a teenage girl and I went with my family. Bring a light jacket and binoculars if you have them! They provide binoculars but only have about 15 for 30 passengers.

One of the best tours we have ever taken. Interesting, educational and fun. John is a fantastic host and makes the most of the two hours. He also provides seasickness wrist bands for those that may not have their sea legs. You will learn more about lobsters than you thought you ever would and have fun doing it. This is worth both your time and money. We saw lots of wildlife and of course lobsters! Take the tour and see how fun 2 hours can be.
