One complaint was that our tour was supposed to go at 8:30am, but they moved it to 1pm due to weather, which can't be helped and is not the companies fault, but it sucked because we had to cancel another tour we had planned. It's hard to believe them when they tell you due to weather as well when its bright and sunny out, but who knows what its like 20 miles off the coast. They did offer you your money back if you couldn't go at 1pm. The ride itself was a lot of fun though. We saw multiple whales and we even saw puffins and a light house that was cool. If you get sea sick, which I do, I would definitely take some meds before you go. A lot of people were throwing up and they were passing out barf bags haha. All in all though I would recommend it if you've never seen a whale up close, because it is a great experience.

Boarded the Atlanticat on a VERY FOGGY day. After everyone boarded, the captain announced that with the fog there was a very high possibility that we would not have the visibility to see any whales. He gave everyone the opportunity to leave the boat and either get a full refund or choose a different day for a cruise. My husband, daughter, and I decided to stick it out. So glad we did! We saw several Fin whales and some Minke whales as well as sea birds and seals. The fog was very thick in some places but cleared up enough for us to have a great experience. Be warned that it is VERY COLD on the water, so dress accordingly!!! Great trip!

Took whale watching trip. Saw at least 4 whales and lots of seals. A bit pricey but worth it. You can sit outside in the front of the boat, on the upper deck or inside. We suggest the front. Take binoculars with you. Boat is fast, creating strong winds. Take outerwear regardless of temperature and have some way to tie your hat down. There is a galley on board with a surprisingly good selection of goodies and beverages.

We took the whale and puffin trip and really enjoyed it. The ship takes you out the nesting island for the puffins and then off to find whales. We were happy with the number of puffins we were able to observe. The staffer who narrated the trip was very knowledgable. The speakers the ship installed are not the best for allowing one to hear everything described. We did get to see a number of whales which is always exciting. We would take another of their trips the next time we head to Bar Harbor.

I have whale watched in Provincetown, Alaska and Hawaii and have never been on such an overcrowded boat. There were insufficient seats for all the passengers. The naturalist was a newbie, and lacked some polish, but knew her stuff. We saw 3 whales and numerous puffins which was good. The whales were playing with us and entertaining us and the capt said time to go back. Since the trip was advertised as 3.5-4 hours, and we returned after exactly 3.5 hours. Not sure whynwe couldnt spend 10-15 more minutes. Perhaps they should change their advertising. With the $59 price per person, I feel I'm being generous with an average rating.
