“Great for active visitors to Bar Harbor”

This is a great, budget, no frills motel. We have stayed here many times and it's the best value we have found in the area. The roooms are clean, clean, clean and the family who owns and operates this motel are honest, friendly and you can depend on the rooms being super clean year after year. The rooms are basic, 50's style small rooms with queen bed and small bathroom. They recentlly added Wi-fi and we had no problems connecting with our laptop. We will stay here again, as we don't spend a lot of time in the room, we go to Bar Harbor to hike and bike in Acadia and want quiet, clean basic accommodations.

If you just want a room where you're going to sleep for a couple of nights, then this is a great place. Yes, the last time the rooms were decorated seems to be over a decade ago but who really cares? It's clean and yes, I agree w/ the poster down below, the water gets really strong and hot.

By the guy at the desk was very nice. Recommended us a barbeque place which is directly across the hotel. It was actually one of the favorite places we ate while we were there. And next to the motel is a cute miniature golf course.

If you are looking for a clean, basic, affordable room (all rooms are $42) just to sleep at night after being outdoors all day, this is the right place. The rooms are very clean and small. The beds are very comfortable and bathroom is clean. The owners of this motel are very friendly and accomodating. They are eager to help and assist their customers for a comfortable stay. Motel is not too far from the Acadia National Park and bit detached from downtown Bar Harbor. Bit too much mosquito at night time and if you leave your door open for longer than 3 seconds, they come in your room in packs, but for $42/night, I didn't mind.

I'll admit, I am probably not your typical traveler. I don't need breakfast, coffee, exercise room, bar & restaurant, etc. What I want is a clean room, comfortable bed, TV, and bathroom equipment that works. When I pulled in, the sign on the wall said. "We are proud to show you our rooms." I've been to enough motels to know not everyone can say that! The room had all the things I needed ( as mentioned above). The TV had 60 channels, the shower volume was better than most chain motels, and the towels were actually thick enough to dry off. But above all, it was CLEAN! No paintings hanging on the wall, the 2 chairs were plastic patio chairs, but the place was CLEAN! And, besides, in the dark all rooms look alike. All rooms were $42. Yes, late night trucks can be a little loud, but how much traffic is there going to Bar Harbor from 12 - 6 am? I have never written a review for anything, but I had to write one for this place.

The Robbins is definitely frozen in time. I was born in the 70's but I think I can safely say I have visited the 50's. The price was right though and got the job done as far as shelter. The room was super clean, especially the bathroom. The water pressure was suprisingly excellent (sucky pressure is one of my pet peeves). Like the previous reviewers warned, it is not quiet, there's no cell phone signal (but free wifi-go figure) no ice machine (available in office which closes at 9ish) and no food except for a soda machine. If you know those things going in and you don't need to have your blow-dryer plugged in at the same time as the AC, it's the place for you.

This place is far below the going rate for Bar Harbor and it shows.
If you want somewhere cheap then this is the place for you.
If you want somewhere quiet (it sounds like the traffic on the road outside is going thru your room), or you want somewhere with amenities (the pool is 3ft all around and there may have been a coffee machine somewhere), or you want a good smelling room (one room has definite sewer issues), then find somewhere else
If you plan on being out a lot and just resting here then this place is the best value around

The Robbins Motel offers a reasonably priced room ($58.00/double) in a pricey area in the Bar Harbor area. The Robbins is conveniently situated on Route 3, very close to the entrance to Acadia National Park and some four miles to Bar Harbor.

The Robbins is a throwback to what motels looked like in the 1950's. Basically, attached cabin-like rooms. That being said, our room was clean and appeared to be well-serviced. A couple of nice features included a separate air conditioner and heater in each room. We kept the window open because the weather was quite comfortable, but the down-side of that was lots of road noise coming from ME-3, from which our room was relatively close.

The queen-sized bed was okay, but nothing special. There was a desk-type area which was under what looked like an area for hanging clothes, but I've no idea how one could work at the desk when anything was hung in this area. The 19” color TV had basic cable with good reception. The same could not be said of my cell phone (T-Mobile) which had no service in this area. Our room had a digital alarm clock.

The bathroom was like the room in that it was crowded but serviceable. Guests interested in showering must negotiate a very large step to get in and out of the bathtub. The shower fixtures looked relatively new and the shower itself earned my 3-star (highest) rating for temperature, water pressure and drainage.

The hotel has a small pool (3-foot depth) behind the main office building which young children would probably enjoy. The Robbins provides free WiFi service which offered a good and fast connection in our room.

The motel is located very close to a great miniature golf course and a couple of restaurants; we ate breakfast at the Log Cabin restaurant down the road a few hundred feet as Robbins does not offer breakfast.
