Description: The Dog and Pony Tavern is a unique dining and drinking spot that is hidden in a cluster of trees off the beaten path in Bar Harbor. Those who are adventurous enough to find it will enjoy cheap but delicious cocktails and meals in the "treehouse" beer garden, outdoor gazebo bar, or may find themselves at the indoor dining area watching the day's sports game. D 'n P (as the locals call it, short for Dog and Pony) opens at 11:00 am for lunch and drinks and stays open until 1 am! Food is served until 12:00am, but after the tavern closes at 1 am in the summer, a take out window opens, and food is available from 1am 'till approximately 2am. It's a great peaceful place to eat and drink during the day and a happening night spot after the sun sets. In 2010, Dog and Pony was voted #1 Patio Dining and #1 Night Spot! Locally owned and operated, the DnP offers a unique Bar Harbor experience you can't find anywhere else!

“Great local hangout”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

We only popped in for a drink while waiting on a table at another restaurant. That table became available way too soon. I would have enjoyed hanging here for awhile. Guess I'll have to go back someday!

“How bizzare...but fun.”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

Not sure if this place actually had a roof or not. It seemed to be just a series of large outdoor decks built around large trees. Colored lights strung all over the place and large outdoor projector TV's showing football. GREAT place to hangout.

“A GREAT BURGER”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We happened to visit this pub because it was close to where we found a parking space. I had their burger, which I thought was the best I had had in the USA and my wife had a very good salad. A lady dining alongside us said that she had had the best clam chowder outside of The Black Pearl in Newport. We had this there later on our trip and it was excellent so the Dog & Pony's must have been very good. The service and staff were friendly and efficient.

“Wow, like stepping back in time!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Quaint interior, excellent food, very friendly staff. We stumbled across this little pub. The fried clams were fantastic and everything we tried on the menu was outstanding. They knew we were tourists but treated us like locals. Made the experience very memorable.
