“One of our best motel stays in a long time”

Acaidia Pines Motel is a well run , clean and comfortable place to stay. We were treated as friends by the owners and staff . The whole property was well maintained , spacious and quiet . I would recommend this motel to anyone traveling in the area and I am sure to stay again the next time I travel to Bar Harbor.

I just returned from my Memorial Day weekend trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

After reading several reviews, I decided to try the Acadia Pines Motel which is convenient to Bar Harbor and exceptionally convenient to Acadia. My stay exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean and comfortable with free wireless internet and a refrigerator. The large windows open which allows you to enjoy the fresh air while in your room. There are chairs outside of each room and in the yard of the property where you can relax or socialize with other visitors.

The staff was fantastic. Both friendly and full of helpful advise. Not sure what you want for breakfast? Want to know where the best gardens are located? Want advice for the most scenic drive home?Just ask! I was full of questions and was always welcomed in the most friendly manner.

From the hotel, you have very quick and easy access to the park through park loop road or other less traveled entrances. Just a little further and you are in downtown Bar Harbor. There are several lobster pounds and other restaurants surrounding the property if you do not feel like heading into town.

When I return, I will definitely stay at this establishment.

My wife and I stayed here after reading the other reviews on TripAdvisor. $89 for a king size bed seemed like a great deal, but I was wondering what the catch was. The reviews here insisted it was a nice, quiet, friendly place but that it needed some updating.

Upon staying here, I definitely agree. I asked the front desk for some advice on restaurants, and each time I spoke with someone at the front counter, I was greeting with a smile. The room was basic, but clean. The decor can use some updating, but I was only looking for a place where we could sleep while we visited downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia NP.

This was a great find for our budget conscious vacation.

A nice basic hotel. Our rate was around $129 per night in the middle of the summer, which is good for the area. The rooms were very large, simple but clean. It sits off the road in a wooded area and has a pool, which the kids enjoyed. Also, the staff was very friendly and accomodating. It is right next to the KOA, which is a bus stop for the local shuttle. There is a nice spot next door with bagels for breakfast and great ice cream. Across the street is a lobster pound and a putt-putt course.

We stayed one night at Acadia Pines, so that we could take the CAT ferry to Nova Scotia the next morning. We only wanted a clean room where we could sleep. This motel was obviously just updated on the exterior. Sidiing, windows, doors, pavement, and parking all looked new and extremely well cared for. Our room was a good size. But the bathroom is older and quite small, with virtually no counter. It was clean, but wallpaper above the shower was starting to pull away at the seam. It could use a little more attention inside to match the exterior. While it was in good condition, it is still essentially an older drive up motel. The room smelled a bit musty.

After reading trip advisor, I think we expecting a little more. It was an ok stay but we were disappointed. The room was clean but it had signs of needing to be refurbished. The bed was hard and we could feel the springs. It could have used either a feather or foam topper to make it at least more comfortable. The ceiling in the bathroom was beginning to rust. the fire alarm went off when we took showers one morning - how embarassing. The light outside our door was on all night and was shining in the door keeping us awake. There was signage in bold red lettering about everything - pool closed, don't smoke or there will be a $200 charge, etc. (Felt like all caps in emails). The outside looked great in front of the motel - but the inside needs help and there is nothing but woods in the back. Wireless internet was SLOW! It took forever to download anything. I am glad we only reserved two nights - the hard bed nearly ruined the vacation. Would only recommend after they replace the mattresses and upgraded the rooms a little more.

We recently stayed here for three nights. This motel is a few miles from Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia National Park. Our end-unit room was spacious, clean and fairly light with cross-ventilation between the large front and smaller back windows. The king bed was firm and didn't sag at all. It could have used a pillowtop pad, in my opinion, as I prefer a little more softness. The pillows were feather (wonderful!). We had two king pillows on the bed, and asked for two more (given our choice of foam or feather) so we could read in bed. The room had dated decor, a little wear and tear, but was very clean. Hot water was ample in shower--both in pressure and amount. Had two stuffed chairs by the front window with small table between them, double dresser with desk area & chair in-between, small fridge, microwave, coffeemaker & hairdryer. End tables on each side of the bed with lamps. Parking right out front. The motel was set back quite a bit from the roadway (Hwy. 3) but was still a little noisy till bedtime, then was quiet enough for us to easily sleep with the windows open. The heated pool was fairly large, with a set of stairs into pool, and towels available in the nearby office. Owner was friendly. I would stay here again.
