We wanted something quiet, quaint & NOT Victorian. Holland Inn was perfect. We had a room in the cottage with a nice balcony. Perfect to sit with a cup of tea in the am or a glass of wine in the late afternoon.
Evin was a perfect host. She made suggestions of things to see, places to go & resturaunts for dinner Her gormet breakfast was REALLY yummy, but she also catered to my husband with "just plain eggs".
The Inn was within walking distance from downtown & the waterfront. A nice drive to Acadia National Park with a cd tour guide provided by Evin.
We had a wonderful time in Bar Harbor & staying at Holland Inn made it a perfect trip.

Words can't describe the beauty of Bar Harbor, All of Acadia and just6 the quaintness of the entire area, but it was Holland Inn that made the trip complete. Each morning getting up to the smell of a wonderful breakfast was just the best. Evin is a great cook (I purchased her cookbook) and a wonderful hostess. She is a plethora of information about the island, all of the restaurants, keeps you up-to-date on the weather and is just in general a nice gal. The Inn is very clean, well decorated, and SO SO SO CONVENIENT to everything. You can walk to anything you want to do in the Harbor area. Acadia is close by as well. Laundrymat is close and grocery store, too. Evin has a great yard space and as we got to know some other couples, we sat out one night and had some cognac and enjoyed a great time with these folks. This was our first time in a Bed and Breakfast and I wasn't sure what to expect. John and I were both pleasantly surprised!! (The photos I took were only of the sign and front of the house - actually, the photos just don't do it justice. - take my word for it - GREAT PLACE, you won't be sorry you stayed here.)

Room Tip: We stayed in Beechcliff - HUGE space. She has wi-fi.

This was our second time at the Holland Inn and it was just as good as we remembered. The innkeeper, Evin, makes sure you are comfortable and feeds you well. Her breakfasts are delicious and filling. Our room was in the Quietside Cottage at the rear of the property. and was called Valley Cove,. It was large and pleasant with an enormous bed. Evin is very knowledgeable about Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. She makes sure you enjoy your visit and steers you in the right direction as far as hikes, trails, restaurants, and sightseeing. The Inn's location is ideal, just a few blocks from town and very near the laundromat and grocery store.

We stayed at the Holland Inn for 3 nights. Our room in this 19th century farmhouse was charming and immaculate. Evin, the innkeeper, is warm & friendly, and chock full of information about Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The breakfasts were truly gourmet - elegant and delicious. The inn is perfectly located, very near the entrance to Acadia and walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor, with its variety of restaurants and shops. We loved our stay at the Holland Inn and would definitely stay there again.

Holland Inn is one of the best Bed & Breakfasts. The Inn is very charming and updated. Our room was in the Carriage House not the main house. Our room was roomy, very clean and nicely furnished. Really enjoyed the balcony/deck. What I liked best about the room was that we could not hear the other guests coming and going, very quiet.

The Breakfasts were amazing. The Innkeeper really went out of her way to provide a gourmet breakfast every morning. I also liked that the inn provided 3 different times for breakfast; in case you are not an earlier riser. The innkeeper would talk to us every morning and made suggestions on what to do and where the best places were to go for a nice dinner.

I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend this place if you are going to be visiting Bar Harbor. You definitely will not be disappointed.
