So impressed with how well maintained this place is. Just ten minutes out of Bar Harbor. We played Blackbeard's course the first night, and on the 12th hole Captain Jim was there with tokens for free games to anyone that got a hole in one on that hole. Well, my husband and son BOTH did - and when we finished the course we got to play "spin the wheel" - whatever number it lands on, if anyone in your party got a hole in one, you get a free game. As luck would have it we had one, so we got a third token. We used it to come back the next night for the three of us to play the "original" course. It was less challenging than Blackbeard's course- definitely take the younger kids on the original one - especially since you get to play a hole ON the pirate ship! Kids older than 12 and experienced mini golfers will want to play Blackbeard's.

Super fun and again, I cannot express how well maintained and clean it all is. Nice touch: water is available for sale in vending machines on the course.

We loved Pirate's Cove - kitschy pirate fun and a really great mini-golf experience. It is well maintained, challenging but still fun for everyone. The staff was very friendly. We played one night and had such fun we went back the next night! Don't sit in your room and watch TV with this place so close by!

We went after a long day of whalewatching, so we were tired and a bit cold. We drove out. Very short drive, ample parking space...do not trip on the uneven pavement!
We payed for only one round since we were tired, and took the regular course. Fun for all, but not impossible for my 5 year old. He even made a hole in one that earned us a token for a free game! When we finished the kids were re-energized and happy. So much that we went for a second time, on the Blackbeard challenge! Fun, more challenge for the older ones, still fun for the little one. We also earned a discount for the next time and another free game token by spinning a wheel that had to land in the number where we had made holes in one.
Facilities are nice, clean and well equipped. Personnel very pleasant.

I would put this in the top 25% of putt putt courses. Two 18 hole courses, with the scenic area throughout the course of pirates. Golf balls were slightly beat up, but I expected with this being a high volume tourist attraction. The putting greens were all well maintained, some brick edging needed to be resecured, but added to the difficulty of the course. I would stop again on another trip as a filler. At the end of playing they have a prize wheel if you got a hole in one. Also they had a deal running with nearby business for the rounds loser to receive a kids cone of ice cream. I wish our putt putt courses near me would take some decorative pride in their courses like this one. The elevation changes at this course, as viewable when pulling up, makes this course not handicap accessible. It would be difficult for them to make it handicap accessible and maintain the course difficulty.

Staff could do a better job of helping each other, but they appeared to be summer high school employees. Appeared one was handling golfers that were done, and the other was checking people in. If their are only people checking in, both should help to get the golfers on to the course, not just sit there and watch the other employee check in several groups in line.

This is a great mini golf course, we had a really nice time here, but it is a drive from bar harbor, not really something you can walk to. Staff and surroundings are really nice. The course is a little challenging, but lots of fun.
