My husband and I stayed in the hotel part of Bar Harbor Manor this month and we definitely enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself is cute, our room on the third floor was spacious, and I enjoyed the terrace. When we checked in, the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful and spent a lot of time recommending places to go and restaurants to try, labeling everything on a handy map.

This may sound strange, but the one thing I didn't like about the hotel was that it seemed to be made entirely of plastic. The furniture seemed like it was laminate, the siding was vinyl and the terrace was mostly plastic, it was almost like a toy doll's house. That said, this was a minor thing and the hotel has a lovely appearance and is very clean.

The location was perfect for us as we wanted easy access to town and the buses to take us into Acadia. I didn't realize until a few days into our trip just how far a lot of the hotels are from town. If you're planning on using the buses to get around the island, or make trips into town for shopping or restaurants, staying closer to town is absolutely worth it as it will save you a lot of time and hassle.

All in all, I liked this hotel a lot, and I would likely recommend it to friends and stay there if I returned to Bar Harbor.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor of the hotel, which we liked a lot. Noise was never an issue (I've...

We had read most of the earlier reviews, so we were a bit nervous about our four day stay in early August. We found the Bar Harbor Manor to be exactly as we had expected. We spent the first two nights in the Inn and the second two nights in one of the townhouse suites. (We asked to move because my wife was ill and we wanted a little more space.) Both accommodations were very nice and the staff was very helpful in making the move. In both cases the rooms were clean and comfortable. There was no transmission of noises from other rooms or from the street. The Inn room was on the small size with minimal hanging space in a small wardrobe, but otherwise was quite delightful. We took advantage of our private deck to enjoy the cool nights and pleasant mornings. The suite room was quite large with lots of closet space.

I think some of the previous reviewers who were displeased were expecting a bed-and-breakfast experience. That clearly was not the Bar Harbor Manor. If you are looking for a small hotel experience with reasonable rates and an excellent location, you can't do better than the Bar Harbor Manor

We stayed there for 5 nights over the Labor Day holiday weekend and had a great time. Everything was nice and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location and price were great!! We loved being able to walk to everything in "downtown" Bar Harbor. I would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to visit again.

We stayed here 5 nights. The price was good compared to most and others we have stayed in. The room was nice and clean. The lady that checked us in (wished i had gotten her name because the other lady was not so nice ) was very nice and so helpful with giving us a map and telling us all the must see places. We were on the 2nd floor of the hotel which is new and it was very nice and the bed was comfortable and room was very quite. We had a small balcony that over looked the parking area but was nice. The parking by the way is great it is off the road and only one way in and one way out. Location is awesome, just down the street from a small store/gas station, laundromat, grocery store and very convenient to town. The only problem I had with the room was the coffee maker and products were in the bathroom on the vanity next to the toliet, good thing there was a coffee shop near by also. We would defiantly stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the 2nd floor of the hotel room #220 it was nice, quite and new.

Stayed here on vacation road trip after reading reviews on trip advisor. Was not disappointed! Very clean and friendly... If u stay make sure u get the coupons from front desk for discounts. The room was lovely with big king bed soft and comfy and a little balcony to sit out on..4 blocks from downtown. Real easy walk..there was a big grocery store one block over ... And really good restaurants within a couple blocks.. It is perfect because u can park u r car for free and everything else is within walking distance..we did not hav a bad meal the whole time. We did Arcadia park 26 mile loop. Very pretty , we could hav spent a week exploring just the park. Bar harbor is gorgeous and the manor is the place to stay..we will be back.

Room Tip: Aka for room in new building just opened in July 2013 ... New modern detour lovely interior design

The bar harbor manor was a perfect place for our anniversary getaway. We were in a suite in one of the houses. They are very quiet and private. There are only two per floor - one off the right side of stairs and one on left. We never saw or heard anybody else. Rather than a typical hotel room it felt like a comfortable and beautiful home. A great place to rest and enjoy after a beautiful day exploring the park.

One of the things we liked best was the location. It is on a very quiet side street but everything is walking distance. The bike rental is at the end of the street, there were breakfast place less than five minute walk and the heart of town with restaurants, shops and waterfront were less than 10 minute walk.

We chose one of the new rooms (the hotel type, not the inn type). Very relaxing colors, super comfortable beds, pillows maybe a little bit too thin for my taste; equipped with minifridge, microwave and coffee machine.
Air conditioning was very silent.
Bathroom spotless clean; everything perfectly functioning, as one could expect, being it built no more than a few months ago (it also smells of new).
They keep many lights on outside all night long, something I do not appreciate, what a waste of energy!
The room at almost 200 $ a night was quite expensive, considering also that they do not offer any kind of breakfast.
Close to downtown restaurants, you can avoid to use the car, as it is only a nice 5 minutes walk to main street.
