This place would have been fine if it hadn't cost so much. $350 for 4 nights for 6 people at a full hook up site, and it wasn't even a premium site! Bathrooms wereols & small. Our site was soggy. Pool was old but at least it was nice & warm. Kids liked the playground but wished it had a little more equipment.

We stayed here for a week and had no problems. I think if you pay extra to stay along the water you will be cramped. We chose a full hook up site and had a nice sized spot, could have had more shade but whatever. Maine was in a heat wave when we while there and there was no escaping it. I think some of the folks are wanting way more than what you get in a campground. Having to use the facilities you may get a turd every now and then because people are nasty. I observed them cleaning the bath houses and common areas on several occasions also trash collection. The place is clean, and comfortable after a long day of hiking. We did use the laundry, but did not get to use the pool. Walked the dogs all over the property and enjoyed our stay. We do not have children, but noticed the kids did get to run free with no worries, and they did not cause us any problems. They should have fun too. I would recommend staying here. Save your money and stay off the water. Don't forget your bug spray, it is Maine after all.

Room Tip: We did not stay in the water front sites and therefore had no problems.

First of all the site was beautiful. It was nice having the little portable potties close by. The girls in the store were very kind...We did have a perfect spot and is convienient if you want to canoe or kayak..BUT, anyway, the first night was fine, the first morning had nice hot showers as promised, and we prepared to take off to vist bar harbor. We had a great time, and were in high spirits only to return to find we are assuming someone in the management, moved our tent canopy just a few feet off our main tent, we used it for a cover due to the rain we had expected...and in the process, busted a lamp that was in plain view and left our drying towels that were just hanging to dry to topple on the ground, not to mention twisting the leg on the canopy also. We couldnt understand why the management would do that, then we relized it could have been because maybe it was hitting a small branch that was touching the top of the canopy. Well, okay, i dont know why that would be a big deal, but maybe it was, why not leave a note and ask if we could move it or, come see them in the office,..something, ect..after that the next morning we got up and tried to shower, but couldnt the water was freezing, it was early about 8 or so a.m..and no hot water at all. We doubt we will be back after that considering the price was kind of high, but we wouldnt have minded, if there would have been some curdisy on the part of the management..hot showers like promised and after all we didnt come there to sit around, we went there to visit bar harbor and see the sights. Its a scary feeling someone coming to our site that we paid for, and moving our things around. We were quiet, in our late 40's and stayed to ourselves but were very disapointed that this would happen and doubt we will ever go back. I noticed on the way back that there were several hotels, very nice, that were cheaper or alittle more, I think that will be the route we feel we need to go from now on.

They told us there were 20 tent sites left when we make the reservation, but when we got there all the way from MA, we found we were assigned to the "narrow tent area" where there is no assigned tent space. You have to find yourself a spot in the very limited area. There were no picnic tables, no fireplaces nor privacy. Basically, there was just a place to set up your tent in the middle of others'. Terrible Experience! !!!!!

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. We thought the rates were reasonable (we paid about $115 for two nights on a waterfront tent site). The pool was clean and heated, and it had a slide. The grounds were very nicely maintained. There are activities scheduled throughout the week (although, none were scheduled during our stay). There is a playground and basketball hoop. There is a free shuttle bus that will take you to acadia or intown bar harbor. If you don't want to take the shuttle, it's only about a 10-15 minute drive to acadia, and 20 to downtown bar harbor, so it's very conveniently located. The showers are private with locked doors, which I thought was nice since I have to bathe my small children. The shower water was hot. Our site was waterfront, and we had a very nice view.

Cons: The playground equipment is definitely outdated (but better than having no playground at all). although private and warm, i found the showers to be quite dirty, as were the bathrooms and outhouses. Quiet time is supposed to start at 10 pm, which was important to us since we have 3 small children, but the quiet time was NOT enforced, at all. There was a party 3 sites down from us that went on well past midnight. We didn't complain, and maybe if we had the rule would have been enforced. Our site, although beautiful, was small and we felt as though we were almost camping WITH the people at the site next to us, as there was not much of a boundary of trees or whatnot between the sites.

We're not sure if we'll go back to this campground next year. We may try another campground in the area to see if the sites are a little bigger and more private.

We paid about $40/night which I thought was a good price for a shady spot with water and electric, and the location is about 15 minutes from Bar Harbor or the entrance to Acadia National Park. Quite honestly we did not spend much time at the campground, but we were satisfied with the bathrooms and showers. The showers were especially good since the water was hot and the six showers were all private entrances and private doors. I have all teenagers, but I would imagine this would be good for families with small children (especially if a mother needed to help her 3 or 4 year old son shower or something like that, and did not want to bring him into the Ladies Room). Quiet time is supposed to be after 10pm, but really this was not enforced. I would say that it got quiet after 11pm.

I would never do that to the one i loved ever again. That had to be one of the worst places we have stayed at for any price. Just drive down the road and you could stay at cheaper cleaner motes for less than one nite at this hole. Lovely ppl on the phone. What place in the free world dose not give free internet when you pay less than 200 dollars a nite. Wet dirty toilet paper lined the bathroom floor. Shower water seemed to be recycled form the dumping station water. Quiet times are not inforced.!!!!!!! Ohhh wait a resort fee

Room Tip: Find a different place either before or after.
