Opa is just what Bar Harbor needed. The food is incredible and the service is excellent. I will be eating here often.

Opa is a new addition to Bar Harbor, and we were very impressed. Greek restaurants are too often mediocre, but this one gets high marks on all counts. It has a very attractive interior (but no real bar unfortunately), and the music (Mediterranean guitar) made for an upscale feel in a very casual restaurant. We were delighted with the moist, semi-rare lamb chops (actually a rack) that came with perfectly cooked potatoes and tender, lemony zucchini with a side of yogurt dipping sauce. The Moussaka was the best I have had in years. Sweet, fresh eggplant with a creamy bechamel sauce. The only disappointment was the wine. The list of reds is small and the three we tried were O.K. but a little uninspired. We will be back for sure.

flambé cheese app was amazing, and wild!!! Rack of lamb, 8 ribs, were super tasty and cooked perfectly. Halibut was substantial and beautifully prepared. Wish they were in Boston too;)

My wife and I own two bed and breakfasts in Bar Harbor. When a menu for a new restaurant is delivered we attempt to check it out so we can advise our guests. We went to Opa last night and what an unexpected delight. The wait staff was very attentive.

We began by ordering a bottle off pinot noir. As the waiter uncorked the bottle he mentioned that something was wrong with the wine and removed it. He returned stating it had been a bad bottle and brought us a new one. Bravo. A waiter that knows both his food and his wine.

We did not order apps although there is a wide selection of tapas available. For our main course we had paella with duck breast. Wonderful flavors. The rice was perfect and the vegetables were not overcooked. The duck was perfectly seasoned. We were also told sea food paella would be on the menu starting next week.

We ended the meal with almond cheese cake and baklava from what we were told is a family recipe. Both were excellent

As a side note the couple across from us started with fried cheese which was presented flaming at the table side. OPA indeed!!

We will already trying to decide on what we order next time and OPA will now be on our A list of restaurants for our guests.

We just returned from vacation in Bar Harbor, Maine. We always have breakfast at the 2 Cats on Cottage Street. When we walked up Cottage from our hotel the first day, we noticed a new restaurant just a few doors down from 2 Cats -- Opa. While we were eating breakfast (excellent!) we chatted with a member of the waitstaff who has been on the 2 Cats staff for the 3 summers we have visited. He mentioned that he and the owners of 2 Cats just opened a new restaurant -- Opa. My husband and I decided to have dinner there that night and we were not disappointed. While the restaurant had been open for just 1 week, the food was delicious (the lobster tiropidos (spelling?) were excellent and my moussaka was wonderful). The waitstaff was attentive (all also work at 2 Cats in the morning) and helpful with recommendations. We had a great meal in a relaxing environment. The restaurant is at the opposite end of Cottage from the busy downtown area but it's worth a walk up the street.
