Very much enjoyed our 7 night stay. Upon 1st glance the kids (12&15) were uncertain of our hotel choice. Bar Harbor is not Orlando. We have stayed @ many upscale, showy, hotels for which you pay a premium. We found the Oceanside to be a very clean, spacious rooms, friendly, service oriented family resort w/ 2 heated pools, hot tub & tennis very close to town & practically across from Acadia. We had a very relaxed & pleasant stay. The queen beds were also very comfy. The hotel is seaside so you can walk direclty to the ocean & our balcony overlooked the ocean. My one suggestion for the updates would be to have darkening blinds on the door to the balcony since sunrise in July is approx 5 am and you don't get closer to sunrise than being right @ the Atlantic. They even have umbrellas for guest to use in case of a shower.

Staff was very accommodating and helpful and volunteered some tips that smoothed our stay. We stayed in the Willows and were very comfortable and enjoyed the patio at all hours.
The fireworks on the 4th of July were fantastic, too!

booked four rooms for a trip to Maine to scatter my late husband's ashes in Acadia National Park. The staff was great to work with from start to finish and went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. They even allowed my 2 daughters and their families with young children to check in at 5 a.m. after they drove all night to get there, and did not charge me for an extra day (which they certainly could have done). We stayed in the main building and the rooms had been recently updated with new carpet, 2 queen beds, minifridge, and microwave. There were also hair dryers, irons and ironing boards and two sinks. The view of Frenchmen Bay was incredible, and I went to sleep with the balcony doors open and felt completely safe. The breakfast was a little overpriced, but offered good variety and was certainly convenient. The indoor pool proved to be a great bonus as we had several days of rain and two young children who needed to work off excess energy. I will stay there again, without a doubt.

Very friendly staff, nice rooms. Our room had a great view of Frenchman's Bay and was very close to both Acadia National Park as well as the town of Bar Harbor. Nice indoor pool, which is infused with salt water. Free coffee at all hours.

I stayed at Atlantic Oakes five nights for a conference in July. My room was an end unit in a two story building at the waters edge. The room was very spacious and we had a great view. The facilities were nice for our conference. We had lunch three days and they were very good. The grounds are nice and I liked the privacy of the location.

The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Conference Center is proud to announce brand new renovations to the Oceanside rooms. Just opened in April 2010, our Deluxe rooms are right on the water’s edge with a spectacular view of Frenchman Bay. Our Superior rooms were renovated in 2009, and even more plans for big changes are in the works. With our new low rates, the Atlantic Oceanside hotel is the perfect spot for your Maine getaway.

Had a one night stay for a conference. Sorely disappointed when I checked into my room. Looks like a budget motel. View was awesome. Front desk staff (lady with great Southern accent) was as nice as could be. Breakfast at conference function was pretty good. Thanks for providing computer and printer near front desk. Suggestions: get new bed spreads...the ones used are terribly cheap. New carpet would make the rooms nicer too. It wasn't dirty - just older and cheap stuff.
