“Spacious, clean rooms. Great Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2012

My husband and I spent a couple of nights at this motel the first weekend in May. The room we had, which was very spacious and very clean, had a king size bed, a recliner chair and a love seat which could be made into a single bed. We were on the second floor with a view of the ocean. (All of the rooms and cottages have an ocean view) The owner, David, was very friendly and helpful. As a lot of the businesses were still not open for the season in Bar Harbor, he gave us a book with the restaurants checked off that he knew for sure were open. It is located a short distance off of the main highway so was very quiet. Would certainly go back again.

My husband and I stayed here in the off-season in April 2012 with our 3 kids in the Lodge Suite. The suite had everything you could need, fully stocked kitchen, everything with the comforts of home (I over-packed with supplies). It was great, what a view from the room, big picture window over looking the ocean. Very cozy with a beautiful stone fireplace. The kids never wanted to go out and do anything just stay in the room. The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful. The neighbors were even a little rowdy so it made it more like home. Definantly plan to stay again.

We stayed in Cottage #6. The cottage is not large or fancy, but we found it very cozy, with a nice little kitchenette (supplied with flatware, and pots, etc.) and a table. Just big enough to make a nice meal for 2. It was a cold rainy weekend, but the heat worked great, and the view of the water out the windows is lovely. I also loved that the location is quiet and somewhat secluded. We loved coming home to our little cottage at the end of each day. Owners were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Recommended for anyone looking for a great value combined with a highly desirable location.

I stayed here October 8th-15th, 2011, in Cabin #6. This is a small cabin with a kitchen. It is most appropriate for one person. There are other larger cottages more suited for two persons. There are also more traditional motel type units. The Cottages/Motel is on a small inlet with nice views. Dave the owner is very accommodating and usually has coffee available for early risers. However with a 12 cup coffee maker in the room, one can make their own.

The small complex is located away from the madness of Bar Harbour which, from my standpoint, is a clear advantage.

Highly recommended; I would not hesitate to stay there again.

LOVED our stay here! We had cottage #1, which has a massive stone fireplace and large sliding doors that open to a great little stone patio right on the water's edge. The cottage was fully stocked with cozy furniture and all the kitchen essentials. There was no oven, but a stovetop and microwave, as well as a full-size fridge, coffee maker, toaster. Very clean. Owners and staff were very friendly and had great suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing. This is not the Ritz, but it is a very romantic, cozy, comfortable, welcoming little gem on a beautiful little semi-secluded cove. About a 7-minute drive to Acadia, 15-minute drive into Bar Harbor. Cannot wait to return!

Room Tip: Cottage #1 - huge stone fireplace, sits right on the waterfront, appeared to have the most secluded...

Came here for a few days with my girlfriend and we loved it! will definitely stay here again. Very quiet. Probably the quietest nights I have ever had, couldn't hear a sound except for nature. Wake up every morning looking over the water that is right outside your door is so relaxing. Perfect little cabins with nice little kitchens. Keep in mind, if you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere, these are for people who don't mind a little rustic charm. We stayed in one of the older cabins and were nervous, but it was still super nice and comfortable. I didn't regret it one bit! Price was very reasonable for the area and such a perfect location. Just minutes from the park and Bar Harbor.

This place is in a lovely spot off the main road and has spacious grounds and I think all the rooms and cottages overlook the sea. We were in 24 and couldn't be closer to the sea, I could lie in bed and look at it. Salisbury cove is very pretty, and quiet and the room we had was part of the original buildings cedar clad with plenty of space and a small deck to sit outside. There are also chairs out on the grass around the place for guests to use. That is the up side, the down side is that there is no breakfast here and it's a drive to get some, the room was rather bare although plenty of storage space, but the pillows were terrible and I could not sleep well at all, I would advice Americans who are arriving in their own cars to bring pillows from home. They are very thin and lumpy and so have had to deduct a star for this.
This place is very clean and I can recommend it apart from the pillows!

Room Tip: We were only concerned to have two queen beds and so were happy with that, all the rooms have good v...
