A little hesitant based on the mixed reviews here, we were blown away by the quality of the meal and experience at Blaze. Everything was done just right. We were there on a Tues. night, 2nd week of Oct. It is a small place so every table is going to be near a window, the bar or with a view of the open kitchen. It was only a third full upon arriving but packed by the time we finished. The service was just right at all times. We started with an unusual, but great, bloody mary and after sampling 2 of the locally crafted beers, my wife chose one that she enjoyed. Remarkable Caesar salad (always my litmus test) followed by perfectly seasoned and wood fire grilled rib-eye and whole lobster. My wife who has enjoyed many boiled and steamed lobsters was delighted with the grilled version. The veggies were well prepared and French fries done in duck fat (with a choice of several very flavorful dipping sauces) were an incredible treat. Even ice cold at the end of the meal they were outstanding. Dinner entrees are from $14-30 which, at this level of quality, are an excellent value. I just wish we could have stayed in the area for another night so we could go back.
