“A very good marine life museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2014

Very good museum with lots of information on the local (and not so local) marine life. Admission is by donation, and donate you should! Most of the exhibits are put together by students of the College of the Atlantic (on whose campus the museum is located), and a lot of work was put in to them. A few are in a minor state of disrepair (flaps missing from the information boards); other than that, the only wish was that it was larger!

“What a great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2014 via mobile

Rainy day calls for museums and suchs. What a great place. Kids loved the touch tank and the exhibits were very nice and interesting. I may be a little biased because I'm a biologist but still a great place. Entry fee is up to you so please give enough to keep this place running.

“Interesting exhibits”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

We wandered into the museum after visiting the small art gallery at the College of the Atlantic. The touch tank is full of small sea creatures - crabs, shellfish and other shore life. It was fairly interesting, but our visit was lifted to another level when the museum attendant gave us a guided tour of the tank. Her enthusiasm for the creatures in the tank was infectious as she showed us how to handle the various creatures in it.

The stuffed animal displays are also very interesting, with animals and birds in active tableaux.

“Lovely museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

The Dorr Museum is a wonderful place to visit on the College of Atlantic campus. There is no entrance fee, but there is a box for donations. The students are very friendly and informative about the exhibits and the touch tank. It is a bright atmosphere which provides an educational experience and a fun time rolled into one. Most of the exhibits have been made by the students and show their dedication to making the museum a high quality place. If you have time, walk around the beautiful campus and take a ride on the rope swing!
