We've ate in fabulous restaurants around the world, this dining experience is in the top three! We enjoyed the lobster spring roll for an appetizer with the amazing Anna Damna bread. Then we savored the lobster gnocchi and the halibut with juniper brusselsprouts. We were in love with all the fresh flavors and great chef ingredient pairings. Highly recommend and we finished it off with the Grand Mariner Infused creme brûlée! Wouldn't change a thing and will come back!!

The owner of our B & B recommended this restaurant for our first night. It was one of the best meals I've had. Of course they serve lobster in several ways. I had it with the gnocchi. It is a bit pricy, but sooo worth it. The service is also exceptional!

Our dinner at Fathom was a pleasant experience, but it fell short of excellence. While most of our food was well-prepared, some dishes lacked flavor (not for want of being smothered in sauce). The wine list is reasonably priced, though it doesn't have much depth or range. The spring rolls were a definite hit, and I would recommend the dish if you end up coming here. It's worth a trip if you have more than one evening in town and would like to avoid the pub food downtown, but there are better options.

Greens salad was basically a plate of frisee. Filet mignon had two deep cuts into the side of the meat. I questioned it and was told it happens that way so you can get the full 8 oz of meat. You have to be kidding me. Their idea of pot de crème is basically a small cup of mousse. The servers are not skilled in opening wine. I watched one server who was unable to open a screw off cap! Our server's hands shook so much while she uncorked our bottle, that we poured our own wine throughout dinner, which was a good decision since she couldn't poor the "taste" without a spill.

This was by far the best meal we had in Bar Harbor. We sat outside under the awning with twinkling lights so the ambiance was great too! I had halibut which was delicious and my husband had the special which was a zuppe di pesce. It was pricey but well worth it.
