First I live here and have for 20 years. Fathom is the finest dining experience I have had in years. It is expensive but if it is a special occasion it is worth it. If you want to save some bucks try McKays, excellent food and less expensive. If you voted for Obama you might want to try Havana's also excellent. If you have 3 nights and want to splurge each night do all 3. You won't be disappointed.

Interesting menu, excellent food and great staff. We were spending a few days in Acadia after Christmas and only a handful of restaurants were open in this mostly summer tourist area. We had checked the Fathom website and we were interested, however we were watching our budget. We decided to dine there after seeing a packed parking lot at 8:30pm- the time most sidewalks roll up in Maine in the winter! Our experience was very good. The hostess and waitress were helpful and friendly. A couple items were sold out and we were told upfront with apologies. We shared a salad and were saved the "split" fee when the waitress suggested she just bring another plate.

I had the mussels- I have them everywhere- these were some of the best mussels ever! Not only
were the mussels cooked perfectly, the recipe was incredible- the broth was worthy of being a soup in its own. My partner had the pulled pork which was excellent and the sides wonderful.

We just couldn't pass up dessert. They make their own special bread (you'll have to visit there to find out what it is) which they also use in their bread pudding.

Out bill was reasonable, especially since the food was all so good.

Finest dining start to finish! Tonight, we had the best meal we have had since we started coming to Bar Harbor many years ago. It is located on a side street but don't miss it. The dining area was inviting and comfortable. Our server was knowledgable, attentive and pleasant. Our food was creatively prepared and beautifully presented. The soup was hot and the bowl was full. The salads were fresh and ample. The fresh bread was so good that one in our party declared it to be dessert. But don't miss the desserts. We enjoyed the bread pudding and creme brûlée and both were first class! We enjoyed lobster, venison and duck entree dishes, all of which were delightful.

This new restaurant was recommended by the Bar Harbor Club spa staff as a wonderful quiet gourmet place to enjoy. Absolutely amazing from the Apple/squash soup, Beet and Pear salad and Crab Cakes to the Duck and Salmon entrees, and the not to miss Bread Pudding! (yes we rolled home to our hotel) pleasant fast service, nice atmosphere and interesting and delicious combinations only true chefs could think of. Reservations highly recommended - Thank you to the lady's at the spa for the tip!!!!
