“Very well done, great staff, good time”

Diver Ed's Dive-In Theater

A highlight of our trip to Bar Harbor. We all enjoyed it, our family incl ages 9,14,16, and 72. Diver Ed and Captain Evil have a great thing going. Bonus was taking the trip with the NPS park rangers.

Whether you're a child or an adult, this attraction is one of the best organized trips that does not include whales. Both Edna and Ed's commentaries were insightful and funny - and a great above and below water experience. Though Diver Ed was the only one physically underwater, the clarity of the images we saw aboard the boat made us feel as though we were down there too. Great job!!

Our family recently took our eighth--that's right, EIGHTH--trip with Diver Ed, and it never gets old. Eddie and his wife Edna (aka Capt. Evil) have been great hosts on every trip--affable, friendly, accomodating and appreciative. You'll learn everything you need to about the program from his Web site, but nothing will prepare you for his infectious energy and wacky sense of humor. Diver Ed is just a blast, the kids will have a great time and learn so much (and they'll probably want to go back the next year, and the next), and adults who allow themselves to be kids will have a blast, too. We've been on the morning, afternoon and evening cruises, and we think the evening one is best, but early morning is good, too. Diver Ed also offers a slightly longer cruise with an Acadia Natl Park ranger aboard that's a bit more serious and educational; go on that cruise if you must, we have, and it's fine, but we prefer the unadulterated Diver Ed much more.

A few tips: Bring snacks and a jacket or sweater. Use the bathroom at the meeting area before you leave. Bring a camera. And be on time. Check Diver Ed's Web site for more.

Take it from an eight-time customer: Just go, I promise you won't regret it.

This boat cruise is an amazing chance to get up close and touch sea floor creatures. Diver Ed and his sidekick Capt. Evil are hilarious, engaging, and knowledgeable all at once. Would recommend to everyone!

Although my two teenagers (13 year old twins) were slightly reluctant about "Diver Ed" and assumed it would be something geared toward younger children, they were curious and interested in something a little different. We were all so enthralled and enchanted from start to finish! I can not say enough about the positive energy, professionalism, courtesy, and outstanding talent of Diver Ed and his dependable side-kick Captain Evil! They are the best in the business and their efforts to reach out to each and every one of their clientele aboard did not go unnoticed, from Diver Ed personally greeting each person aboard and checking in with each of us again at the end of the cruise, to ensuring that each child had a valuable experience with the sea creatures, to even making sure parents all got great photo ops of their children! It was truly a blast for everyone aboard and I would go again in a heartbeat! Loved his innovation and clever manipulation too with Mini Ed! Such a great experience!!
