These lobster pounds are everywhere and are a fun place to eat. No ambiance, just inexpensive, yummy, fresh lobster with all the fixins! A great people-watching place!

My husband I stopped at the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound yesterday. We order a lobster roll and a bowl of the lobster bisque. The lobster roll was small but the meat was very tender. It was sever with a a bag potato chips. The lobster bisque had just a few small pieces of lobster in it. We won't stop here again.

After reading the Trip Advisor reviews and at the recommendation of the owner of Robbins Motel we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The food was hot and ready to eat in a very short period of time. We both had lobster and were very pleased with the presentation and the favors. Others in the small dining room were also tourists and the atmosphere encouraged discourse among the diners (it had just rained and was too cool to eat outside in October). Don't listen to the lady who wanted her lobster served to her without the shell (heaven forbid) - this is not a four star restaurant - it is a great roadside cafe with good food at reasonable prices.

unpretentious shacklike place on the road to Bar Harbor open 11am-9pm . Tables and chairs outside. inside a jumble of mixed rural styles .. warm, friendly atmosphere .. just what we wanted. lobster dinner with, corn on the cob, melted butter, lemons and a big bib.. ALL FANTASTIC... eat in or take out. I walked out of there drugged with food happiness.

Maybe all Lobster Pounds have lobster rolls that are this delectable, but we felt like we won the jackpot. It is very informal with an open air feel, but the roll was first rate. Maybe our Acadia National Park mountain hiking was the perfect appetizer!
