It was my first time kayaking and the guide did an outstanding job. Any fear you have about sea kayaking will be put to rest after an afternoon with Brescian. Totally professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. He leaves you alone if you want to be left alone or will assist you if needed. He had a very laid back style and you can tell he really enjoys what he does. If you book a sea kayak in Bar Harbor call this guy, you wont be dissapointed.

This is a great way to see Bar Harbor. Our guide, Brescian, was very professional and took time to address any safety concerns. He explained the proper way to paddle and what to if we flipped over into the freezing cold water (don't worry, no one actually did!). It took a while to get moving because there was a tour ahead of us, but once they launched into the water, it was smooth sailing. The tour was around 4 hours - we stopped periodically as Brescian explained some of the wildlife and took a break on one of the other islands (make sure to pack some water and granola bars - they give you dry packs for your things). I highly recommend Acadia Park Kayak tours if you're ever in Bar Harbor.

I believe we were on the same tour as the last poster. It was a windy day and Brescian suggested we put the kayaks in the water in a different spot for easier paddling. We went in at the Hadley's Point Boat ramp. We received a short lesson with some pointers. What was great about these tandem kayaks was the rudder which made steering so much easier than just trying to paddle in sync. All of the equipment was great, including the spray skirt. Essentially it goes around your wait and then over the edges of your kayak spot, and keeps any water that drips or splashes from ending up in your lap.

Brescian was a great guide, highly recommend.

The day was windy and paddling around the islands at Bar Harbor would have been difficult so Breschin, our guide, offered to take us to a more suitable location that day. We were really appreciative of his extra efforts since this seemed to be a really good decision. As it turned out, half way through our paddle Breschin offered to let the group paddle back to Bar Harbor despite the fact that this would clearly be a pain for him to have to get his transport van from the start of the paddle and bring it to the spot we finished. I really doubt most companies would be willing to be so accommodating. This guy cares about the area and is a great advocate for the creatures and environment of the area. He spent a good deal of time instructing our group and as a little bit if a seasoned kayaker I definitely learned some new things.
