June 13-16 we stayed at Bayview on the 3 day package. It included rooms for 4 adults and 2 children, breakfast each day, Nature 3 hour boat ride and Acadia National Park Bus trip, picnic lunch for bus ride and, Dinner for 6 at the Reading Room Restaurant.
Restaurant and Food: our hotel supervisor, Lisa, recommended the following restaurants:
-Side Street Cafe
-Cafe This Way
All four were good. She was excellent source of information. Cafe This Way gave grandkids tin full of grapes, carrots, etc which hit the spot. The Side Street Cafe could have been nosiy but we went early as Lisa recommended. The Lobster was excellent at every restaurant and the Burgers were very good at the first
The Reading Room was fine Dining and I was thankful the bill was part of my prepaid hotel cost--almost $400. Especially liked the piano player at dinner.
The bus tour and boat tour were wonderful but we had good weather.
The town of Bar Harbor was very nice with appropriate shops and stores.
Two issues: the Ice Cream Store across from Visitor Center Ben and Bills was average edpecially given one scoop was over $5.00
The hotel rooms were excellent with one exception, the beds did not meet the excellent standards of the rest of the hotel. The morning breakfasts were superb.
Should negotiate on the beds if you have had back surgery.
One of the best benefits of the hotel was the shuttle service they provided every day. Always available and timely and parking is limited in town. Can't say enough about the car service. Excellent!
Great trip. My wife said she would go back!
