Recently stayed in at the Inn with my husband and daughter. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay. The location was phenomenal, just a short walk to the main street. Their gardens were quite beautiful and as a Floridian, I really enjoyed seeing a great variety of plants we just can't grow down here.
I have an egg allergy and the staff approached me to ask if there was anything special I would like for breakfast- most thoughtful, but not needed since there were so many things to chose from! Breakfast options were ample and delicious- the oatmeal was especially great! I liked that we were able to serve ourselves breakfast and had several options regarding where to eat, rather than eating in shifts at one table.
We stayed in the Rodick room. It was charming and clean, but unfortunately the shower was extremely small and difficult to maneuver. We also had two very large flies in out room upon arrival. We found that we had to stuff a towel in the window above the airconditioning in order to keep more from coming in.

My husband and I stayed in the St. Saveur room for 3 nights in June and really enjoyed it. The Inn is Victorian but with all of the modern things we have come to expect...flat screen TV, Wifi and modern bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was buffet style with many choices. The oatmeal with cranberries was outstanding...add a little maple syrup. Marian and her staff are very helpful and welcoming. We would most absolutely stay there again. The location is great... just a short walk to the heart of Bar Harbor and a short drive to Acadia National Park. The afternoon wine and cheese was an added bonus.

We celebrated our anniversary by returning to Bar Harbor for the 4th time. This is the first time we've stayed at the Mira Monte and were not disappointed by the room or the relaxed yet lovely atmosphere. We also took advantage of their 3-day InnSpring package which included both a dinner for two at a local restaurant (Italian) and a nature cruise out of Northeast Harbor - both of which were just fine. The Inn is within easy walking distance of the town and the harbor. Our room (one of the less expensive rooms) was spacious and well equipped. The three open-able windows face the heavily traveled Mount Desert Street, but we were able to keep the windows open because the traffic dropped off at a very reasonable hour. Air conditioning is always available if the noise level was too high. The inn also offers a very robust wifi network which was a huge plus. The only drawback was that the "buffet" breakfast was a bit skimpy in its offerings and its most tasty items were quickly depleted and not quickly refreshed.

Room Tip: If you want to be guaranteed a room that is quiet, ask for one that does not face Mt. Desert Street. We stayed in the Grand Central, which could easily hold three if the daybed is used.

Not a detail is missed at this inn! The rooms are comfortable, the cleaning service is generous, the breakfasts smell and taste delicious and the gardens are a constant delight.

Room Tip: oops I marked room service but this inn does not have that.

Our stay at Mira Monte was wonderful . We stayed in the Agamont roomfor four nights, which was lovely and very clean. The breakfast was great including blueberry muffins, quiches, other pastries, oatmeal, steamed eggs, and many goodies. All items are freshly prepared each morning. The staff are all very friendly and informative. The Inn is a short walk to all the restaurants, shops, and waterfront. We will hopefully be back in the fall.
