Ranger assisted us with maps and pointed out good ideas of how to make the most of our 2 day stay. Be alert the Acadia loop for the most part is one way. Jordan pond and bubble areas are full a lot go early !

To get the most out of your trip to Acadia national park, go to the visitor center first. There are maps, rangers with info and a movie about the park

If you like hiking, this will be your first one since there are over 50 stairs to climb to the Visitor Center (there's an accessible entrance that can be driven to). You can watch a video about the park that runs throughout the day, and pick up a (free) park map. Volunteers also sell other maps, books, postcards, and souvenirs that are appropriate to the area, and park rangers can advise you on what to see and where to go based on your ability and interests. In the center is a large topographic model of the island that gives you an overall view of where you are. This is also a stop for the Island Explorer, a free set of shuttle buses that takes visitors all over the area (see their website) with electronic signs at the stops to keep you abreast of the next arrival time.
