We had an amazing stay. The pool staff were friendly and accommodating. It was a busy day and they helped us get a place where we could all be comfortable. The hotel room had an island style carpet and drapes, but the beds were very comfortable. I love the white tea aloe scented toiletries. The hotel is in an excellent location -- walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. The beach is right next door to the pool. The kids enjoyed building sandcastles and taking a dip in the ocean when it got too hot. When we got hungry we had delicious burgers and sandwiches at the pool bar. It was a bit pricey but it is always delicious.

If this is your first trip to Guam then you need to reset your expectations as to what a "Westin" or a "luxury" property is - especially if you are used to the big cities in Asia or the US. that being said this property is nicer than most in Guam. Yes, it needs a refurbishment in most areas - but if you don't look to close and focus on what you are there for then this will do just fine.

As anyone who has been to Guam knows the cast majority of visitors are from Japan -and then Korea and China. The menus and signs are in Japanese first -- and the food caters to that. That is fine - you just need to be aware.

The gym is solid and the location is great -- you can walk down the hill to all of the great shopping areas and then come back for dinner and the great sunset's at the Westin.

This is a very family friendly resort and that is who it seemed to cater to -- I would recommend that you check out the Westin's sister property - the Sheraton - if you are looking for a more adult experience.

Room Tip: The higher the better - and more towards the Ocean side of the hotel for the best views...

We just returned from a week's vacation in Guam and chose to stay at the Westin. This hotel is an excellent choice and in an ideal location. The Westin Guam is very clean, modern, and centrally located. The room was nice and spacious, but air conditioning is so-so. Its so humid there so prepare for your sheets and comforter to "stick" to you at night.

The hotel restaurant "Taste" was a bit pricey so we chose to eat outside the hotel each day. The pastry/coffee bar in the main lobby had yummy desserts for around $2.50-$5.00 so we did have coffee and dessert each day in ther hotel.

Because of the hotel's location, it was easy for us to eat off-site each day. Just at the top of the hotel driveway directly across the street is a Circle K convenience store that's open 24 hours. It's a convenient and inexpensive way to stock up on bottled water, soft drinks, and snacks. 20 yards from the Circle (on the same side of the road) is a nice mall that has a 24 hour McDonald's, TGIFriday's and other shops.

The good news is everything you could want is truly within walking distance of the hotel.

This was a great hotel and we will definitely choose this hotel again on our next trip to Guam. Great pools and spa services too!

Just returned from our vacation at Westin. I liked almost everything. The rooms were clean and spacious. The service was nice and helpful. We were traveling in a group of friends with children from 2 to 6, and the chef always prepared different dishes for our babies to order, as chicken and beef soups, stew meat, meat balls etc. That was just what was wanted because there were no soups except some kind of cream soup, in hole island. And as we are from Russia, our children don't get used to eat such meal. There are few restaurants in Westin but we usually ate in Taste which offered different buffet, and in Prego offered Italian cuisine.
What I didn't like is absence of playground for children, even there is no children's pool in the hotel.
The main advantages of Westin are beach and location. Westin has the most beautiful beach on the island, perfect for children: shallow, no waves, no corals, and as it is private there are not many people on it. The Hyatt has a great territory and a lot of different pools but has no private beach, so there are a lot of people in it and that is charged for deck-chair on the beach.
The location is also good, on the end of the center of Tumon so it is not so crowded and noisy as Outrigger.
I will certainly recommend this hotel to my friends.

Room Tip: I recommend to book rooms on 6 floor as there is free public wi fi there, as other floors don't...

Arrived at Westin Resort Guam at 10pm and self-parked. Signs for elevator to exit the parking garage were not in the right place so we had to drive back up to the hotel and use the valet parking due to luggage. The Valet told us we needed to pull up to the valet sign which was only 15 feet in front of us - why we had to move is a mystery as there was no one around. Get into lobby and receive room key. Get to room and it is a close as possible to the elevators that make a ringing noise upon arrival. The keys to room do not work. Go back to front desk and are told that despite our advance request to be away from elevators we cannot change rooms - and that no other rooms are available. We are also told that the keys work we just aren't doing it right. The manager will meet us at room. We go to the room and wait at the door. Manager shows up and the keys do not work, he has to use his master key. We go into room and it's not acceptable - small, dark, near elevators, no closet, safe on a table, connecting room, with a view of a gentlemen's club. Manager says he will see about another room. The manager was very polite and probably the only reason I gave the three star review. Manager returns and gives us keys to another room on the 19th floor away from elevators but facing the main street. We resign ourselves to just dealing with it. This room while larger was close to the street. Being on the 19th floor we thought that wouldn't be a problem, but the noise was really bad. About a block away is a mini amusement park with a DJ that blasts music until midnight each night. We could hear the music clear enough to know the songs and hear the dj's comment. Also could hear the buses and street noise. Also the view was of abandoned buildings, two gentlemen's clubs and the amusements. We could see part of the beach if we looked to the far left.

On the Plus side - the manager did his best to correct the room situation. I wish him the best when he finds a better hotel to work at (he is better than this location). The beach at the hotel is very nice and peaceful. The pool was mostly good but looked to need some tile cleaning. Pool bar good but service was minimal at best - if you didn't ask you would think it was closed. Not enough chairs on the beach, but there were enough near the pools. Hotel lobby was spottlessly clean as were most public areas. AC in rooms was good. Hotel is within walking distance to stores/restaurants.

Negatives: noise. Rooms are all off of a center atruim that is part of the lobby. One evening there was a piano player and he could be heard in the entire hotel due to the atrium. If you didn't like the music you were out of luck. Outside room noise is HIGH - if you can sleep through street noise and a DJ with loud music then you will be fine. The rooms smell of a hint of smoke - since the hotel is smoke-free this seemed odd. Every room door had a gap of about 1/2 an inch. Because each entry is tiled you can see a reflection into each room - this gap also means you hear the hallway/atrium noise. Hotel website photos make the place look better than it is. Sorry but the rooms need updating badly.

Would I stay here again? Never. Not even for free.

Room Tip: For a quiet room you should ask for a room furthest from the street on a high floor.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently on a short holiday. My first time in Guam and my first time to stay at the Westin there. Overall I was very happy with my stay and the room and service. I was upgraded to a corner king room on the end of the hotel near the street. That resulted in not having much of a view but I was happy to have the extra space. The room was clean and well furnished. I think you have to keep in mind this is Guam and not NYC or another 1st tier city. The rooms are nice but overall, as with a lot of things on Guam, a little tired and a little behind the times. Keep your expectations realistic and you'll be satisfied with your accommodations.

The main selling point in my mind of the Westin was it's excellent location right on the beach and at the end of the main shopping and dining area in Tumon. It's also only about a 10 min. taxi to the airport. I played golf at the Leo Palace Resort and as a guest of the Westin that gave me a small discount on green fees as well as a bus that picked shuttled me back and forth to the course. The breakfast buffet was nice with a good selection of foods. Rooms had wired and wireless internet access though at a charge of $15/day unless you have Starwood gold/plat status. If you only need occasional access the public areas all had free wi-fi.

I had dinner at the Hyatt and Hilton located nearby and they also seemed nice but there was nothing bad about my stay at the Westin and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I'm visiting Guam.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as near as possible to the ocean both for the views but also to avoid any chance of b...

Me and the wife chose The Westin as our domain while spending the holidays on Guam and I must say that it is quite satisfactory. Overall our stay was not as expected as how it is advertised to the customer but then again it was good enough.

The people at reception were nice but I notice they were a bit fumbly when dealing with our check in and check out and with other customers too. I witness some that had room delays and so forth. They were nice so it was o.k. with us. Maybe it was busy because of the holidays. I understand because I work in customer service too but not hotels.

Our room was good and had good standards. I miss the bed! It was so very comfy and cozy.

Location is nice. They have a swimming pool area by the beach and the hotel is not to far from outside restaurants and other places of leisure.

What made the most of our stay was the restaurants and the superb services offered! The buffet on the first floor is amazing! Mostly the Sunday brunch with so many great and yummo foods to choose from! You must beware of how busy the restaurant gets however! Again maybe it is because of holidays season but it gets busy over there! Once again speaking of busy, the Starbucks (yes, they have a Starbucks) gets really busy! I usually spend most of my time there beause of the free wi-if and I must say it is one of my highlights at The Westin. The cake display is real nice and good too! Even though they get so busy with only ONE worker mostly they are always so nice and get the orders done! Ray is always so pleasant and have nice demeanor and Michelle is good too. But when it is both of them it is amazing how many customers they take care of in little time! In a place so busy I do not understand why there is only one worker mostly however. Thank you again so much for the great services and all that you do! Good coffees and drinks! The Japanese restaurant is a little pricy but the food is good too and the service was nice!

I think thatif you are looking for hotel that has just right quality, it is The Westin in Guam. Nothing too extravagant and not very dissapointing with a reasonable price, then You might like to consider this hotel.
