“Overpriced, smokey, poor service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

The food is low quality, and extremely overpriced. Their alcoholic drinks have little to no alcohol in them but they are willing to charge you twice as much to put in the amount they should be putting in to begin with. The staff isn't very responsive and it's a very smokey atmosphere, with everyone lighting up. It's also incredibly loud and difficult to hear anyone speak.

“Not really worth a visit.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2012

Just next to the Nikko Hotel and part of which is supposedly used as their 'private beach', Gun Beach doesn't really have much to offer the casual tourist as it is just a stone's throw away from Tumon Beach - a far lovely stretch of water due to it being much further inside the reef.

Gun Beach has nicer sand, that is true, and outside the Nikko Hotel it is nicely lit up until about 22:00. However, during the daytime, the stony sea bed and poor visibility for snorkeling make it a fairly poor choice of beach.

The beach bar, imaginatively named 'Beach Bar' could well be a great place to chill out during the daytime, especially during their happy hour. However, during the evening, the price of a drink may exceed your expectations. Granted, the atmosphere can be good, what with local armed forces personnel looking to blow off a bit of steam, live bands grooving, and young carefree hipsters strutting their stuff on the dance floor. But, if you are looking for somewhere romantic to stare into the moonlit ocean together and enjoy a quiet conversation, this may not be it as you'll find yourself shouting to your dearly beloved over the music and avoiding resting your best shirt on a sticky table with an overflowing ashtray.

I was informed be the hotel staff that it's possible to see dolphins frolicking in the waves of Gun Beach during the morning. I guess an experience like that would have raised my review another point had I had it!

“This area is beautiful!”

It's rich in history and to make it even better there is a beautiful bar straight from a movie! Love it! However the food at the bar isn't very good but the atmosphere is great!

“Piece of History”

Not much to see here but there is a trail I did not walk along next to the WWII cannon. Nice bar on the beach but the margaritas I got were weak.
