We have been to the Premium Outlets in both Las Vegas and Orlando and loved them. Waikele is a massive disappointment! The trip out there is at least half an hour each way and we ended up with one pair of shoes and some socks! There are a few of the big brands that you would expect but they just have nothing worth buying...and they also seem to charge the same or very similar prices to the "non-outlet" stores. We found the shopping at Ala Moana much better and even with the falling AUD the prices are so much better than at home anyway. There is also no where decent to eat or drink at the outlets without walking a fair distance so if you do decide to go take a water bottle!

Spent a full day at the outlets - sensational! Be sure to log in before you go at the website for extra vouchers. We had Matt from Hawaii transportation concierge take us there and pick us up - ph 808.931.0465 - best value for us as we went straight there and called him half an hour before we were ready to be picked up. Plenty of room for all our shopping. Matt also took us to the airport, and our friends did a personalised day tour with him. He is very accommodating, reasonably priced. His van seats 14- and comes with a cooler of drinks... Definitely a nice way to see the sites of Waikiki. We will be using Matt on our next visit !!

This outlet is a nice change of pace from the beach. For $18 round trip you can catch a shuttle that will pick you up from your hotel. The outlet itself is set in a beautiful area and based on traffic is about 30 min from Waikiki. Most of the shops are brand name like Coach, Bebe, Juicy, Calvin Klein, Ralph Loren, Saks.... Etc,etc. We went on Thursday and each store was having a really good sale. It's a litter hotter than in Waikiki so take water or be prepared to pay outrageous prices. There is a Chili's and macdonalds with walking distance.

We had a great day out at the Waikele Premium Outlets. After investigating the options of getting out there we opted to go with the PG Plover shuttle at a cost of $15 return departing at 9.35am. Booking this was done over the phone and we were picked up at the Hilton Hawaiian on time. It took a while to wander through the traffic in Waikiki to complete the hotel pick ups but then it was off for a fabulous day of shopping. We took the option of returning at 5pm as we knew that we would need every available minute. We were not disappointed. We started at Saks and then just worked our way around the outlets. There is something here for everyone. My daughter and I bought clothes and shoes and we felt that the prices were very reasonable when we compared them to what we have to pay in New Zealand for name brand items (and they were certainly better than in Waikiki). Any return visit to Honolulu will certainly include a visit out to Waikele. From our investigations we found that it was not going to be easy to get out to Waikele by public transport so we would book a shuttle again on future trips.

Caught a PG Plover shuttle to the outlets ($10 round trip). Great number and variety of outlets at great prices. Pleanty of food options - restaurants, fast foods, and kisoks. Something for everyone here - at much better prices than Waikiki - or home. Sign up as a VIP member on the Premium Outlets website for extra specials and offers (different or better than the VIP booklet).
