“13 Nights at Bellows”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

We just returned from 13 nights at Bellows AFS. The 2 bedroom renovated cabin we stayed in (316B) was wonderful. The beds were fine, the facilities inside the cabin clean and the best part about it was waking up and going to bed to the sound and site of the ocean. I have read many reviews about problems with bugs, let me just say we didn't have any problems, you are visiting a tropical climate and you are bound to see the occassional ant but we did not have a "problem" nor did we see centipedes which are also a common complaint. It's all about how well you keep the space clean. We never let dishes sit in the sink and we thoroughly wiped surfaces down with a clorox wipe. All foods were kept in the fridge. We had great housekeeping (fresh towels and making of beds) as well. All of the employees were pleasant.

Room Tip: pick a renovated ocean side cabin, they don't have A/C but open the windows and doors and there...

I almost feel like I'm giving away the farm by doing this review however I feel that my fellow military members should know about this place. We all in the military have stayed in less than desirable accommodations. Others mention this place is not a luxury resort. This is true but believe me when I say the beach is the best on this island. The accommodations are clean, safe and perfect for couples or a family. Make sure you rent a boogie board for 5 bucks a day, it's worth every penny. There're cabins and a few condos. To get reservations there're rules to follow and it takes planning. Got to the website to learn more. Enjoy!

Bellows beach is AMAZING! That being said, you come here for that reason. The cabins are clean, the bed was really hard.. But you wake up in the morning to the sound of the ocean and a surreal sunrise! Make some coffee, some crepes and then take a nap on the beach! Life is good!

Just got back from spending 6 nights at the Bellows AFS Na Mok condos! Our family of four stayed in one of the second floor condos, super impressed with the accomadations here. We have stayed at other military rec. lodgings and this was by far the nicest! 2 rooms, beds were comfortable, housekeeping comes around everyday and asks if you would like clean sheets/towels which is really nice. The point of our vacation was to get away and just spend time together as a family - Bellows was great for that, it was quiet and away from all the craziness in Honolulu/Waikiki. The (usable) beach was a 10 minute walk from the condo, it was practically empty while we were there! Our 2 kids (ages 4 and 6) had a blast just running around in the water and playing in the sand. We also rented boogie boards from the recreation office they have there. ONLY downside is the drive if you do plan on doing anything outside of Bellows - it takes an hour to get to the North Shore and about 30-45 minutes to get downtown. Tip: Buy groceries at the Hickam commissary right next to the airport before heading to Bellows!

Room Tip: Get a condo and don't worry about bugs, crappy beds, etc.!

They are clean and in the right location people are excellent in cleaning and fixing anything that is wrong ,we will be coming back to bellows every chance we get. Mahalo bellows

I recently stayed for four nights in two of these cabins and they were great. I was a little apprehensive at first after reading a few reviews, but they were much better than I had hoped for.
I will be going again.
Best beach with very few people
For the price it can't be beat

Room Tip: Plan on cooking out on one of their grills, but must have your own charcoal

We have been to Bellows beach several times, but in November, 2010, we stayed 5 nights. First off, the cabins are simple cinderblock duplexes. Our unit was a two bedroom with a sofa-sleeper. They are not luxurious but work well for a family of 5. Yes, there are some bugs, but our unit did not have that many. The cabins, in my opinion, are only 10% of the reason to stay at Bellows. The beach makes up the other 90%. It is beautiful with the best sand on Oahu. The waves break nicely for boogy boarding or body surfing. There is no coral, unless you swim offshore about 500 meters, so your toes only touch soft sand while out catching waves. A Subway and mini mart are nearby for food and supplies. My oldest son and I decided to do paintball, which is located near the old runway. What a blast that was! We played for hours, mainly because we won 500 extra rounds during one Capture-the-Flag game. My son did the Medal of Honor run and got the flag for our team. I highly recommend staying at Bellows.
