Open Palms is the perfect place to stay where the quiet serenity of the Koolau foothills makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Several of the windward beaches are a 5 minute drive away for when you want to be at the beach. Kitty has created a wonderful place to stay that will be your home away from home. Also because Kitty is a longtime resident of Waimanalo she has excellent guidance for everything a visitor needs to know.
A great place to stay and rest in O'ahu. The property and the view are beautiful, the home is pleasant. It's a 5 minute drive to the great Waimanalo beach and, as O'ahu is not really big, you can visit the whole island from this place and come back at night.
It was pleasant and relaxing just to stay there and rest.
Kitty is discreet and attentive.
We enjoyed this place and recommend it.
We hope to return to Hawaii, sooner or later. We already know where to stay :-)
All I can say is it was what the doctor ordered. If you want to stay at a pluch place with a very detailed appearance, this is the place to be. Ms Kitty was exceptional as host and can't thank her enough. I highly enthusiastically recommend this for your stay whether single or as a couple.
When I first started looking for somewhere to stay on Oahu renting a house never crossed my mind and then I saw the profile picture for Open Palms and knew I had to stay there. Reading all of the amazing reviews though did leave me a little skeptical, nowhere could really be that perfect surely ? I made a point of contacting several of the people who had left such glowing reviews located throughout the world and each one confirmed that the review was genuine. From then on nowhere else was even considered. I contacted Kitty 18 months before we were due to visit, the flights hadn't even been booked, yet she was more than happy to reserve our stay. Through regular communication I kept her updated, paid a deposit and discussed the details regarding arrival time etc. On every occasion Kitty was more than accommodating and when the time finally came for us to stay she was just as accommodating and lovely as I had imagined. Kitty is just as wonderful as her property, nothing was too much trouble. The house and it's location are beyond stunning. The kitchen very well equipped, the beds comfortable and the carpet plush. There are boards and other beach accessories that she provides if required too. The horses are friendly and Hunter is a delight, I enjoyed playing with him on the lawn. You will not regret a stay at Open Palms Plantation it truly is beautiful. I would return in a heartbeat !!

This is the place to stay while vacationing on Oahu, don't leave home without a reservation at Open Palms! Comfortable, warm, beautiful and secluded. Everything you might need while you are here is provided and if something is missing, Kitty will make sure you are taken care of. Everything is as advertised and our next visit will be booked here. Beyond expectations!
We had wonderful stay at Open Palms Plantation. Our host Kitty was very welcoming and made sure our stay was amazing. House is comfortable and equipped with everything you might need. The entire property has been beautifully maintained and offers a nice retreat for people that want to escape hustle and bustle of Honolulu and staying at any hotel. I don't think we'd ever want to stay at another property at Oahu. We'll be back for sure!

We stayed with Kitty and Hunter (and Bad Boy and Mama Kitty, the two cats, as well as Waldo, Diamond and Mana, the three horses) for a second time, having stayed there around 2 years ago (see previous review). What can we say - it was just as we remembered it. Wonderful, magical, beautiful and very relaxing. Turning up the driveway and seeing the beautiful tree and garden nestled in the foothills of the amazing mountain range - the stresses of city life just melt away (and we live in Shanghai, a city of 20 million plus, so we have plenty of city life stress that needs melting!). All of the previous reviews basically sum it up - it's really horses for courses whether you want the Waikiki experience of the Waimanalo experience. I know what we prefer!
