“Very good fish tacos”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

We really enjoyed finding Sweet Home Waimanalo. The fish tacos are yummy. My youngest kid couldn't find anything that sounded good to him so he opted for McDonald's next door. But, the rest of us enjoyed our food. They do have outdoor seating but it is near the highway. Bathroom was nice and clean.

“Very good!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

We stopped in here for lunch. Although the open air seating means you will get flies, it was worth it for the great food! We ordered the fish tacos and the salmon burger. The fish tacos were delicious. My friend loved the salmon burger. The side salads are local, fresh, and delicious. The banana chocolate chip cookies were awesome. Very recommended!

“My go-to "fast food" joint in O'ahu!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

Situated on the main drag heading north up the East Coast of O'ahu, Sweet Home Waimanalo serves up great pulled pork sandwiches, super-healthy acai-berry bowls & an assortment of other carry-out salads, meals & desserts. Although there is no indoor seating, SHW offers outdoor tables & benches under a lanai. Don't expect any beautiful, exotic ambiance here. Come here for the food. Go inside, order your food, roam around the little local souvenir area, then go outside to pick up your food at the outside kitchen window. Then chow down & savor the flavors of this island. Afterward, find out about the amazing yoga classes offered at the little thatched-roof "hut" behind SHW on Tuesdays and Fridays by Laurie Freed, an Iyengar-certified instructor. You'll need some exercise after eating all the little delights at SHM.

“Delicious, fresh homemade food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

We had seen "Sweet Home Waimanalo" featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives". That's why we put it on our list of places to stop on Oahu. Everything made fresh on the premises, herbs & veggies grown there, too. We tried the fish tacos, tofu burger and salmon burger and ordered corn on the cob for our 5 year old. Everything was delicious. The place was busy, and everyone was happy.
Order inside, pick up at the kitchen window outside, covered picnic table seating outside. Plates, cutlery are all compostable :) And a sweet bonus - a clean and pretty restroom with a blue door.
Next door is a market that has gone out of business and next to that is McDonald's. Street parking is available next to McDonald's. Can't believe the dichotomy of having these two restaurants almost next to each other LOL. Skip McDonald's for both the food and the restroom.

“Love this Lemonade with mint leaf”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

Kalua pig, Acai bowl, fish tacos, healthy tofu-stir fry and dont forget to check in show case it may have my fav. bredpudding.. And of course fresh homemade Lemonade ! This area does not have many restaurant or eating place (it is Mcdonald's netx door, though) But this has all that you need for Lunch to bring Bellows beach. you can choose two side when you order a lunch plate and I always order Bokchoy cole slow and husband orders corn on cub. I still like Kalua pig but it is a bit salty and strong taste than before when we visited first here. Parking space is very limited.
