This beach is amazing. Absolutely gorgeous, the colors are amazing. You almost think it is fake it's so beautiful. We spent the day here, brought picnic lunches and enjoyed every minute. The ocean floor has beautiful soft sand, perfect for playing in the waves. We found this beach to be perfect for boogie boarding. Not a beach you'd want to snorkel at.

If you can imagine paradise - this would be it. This was my paradise. The beach was clean and the ocean floor was sandy. Perfect for children. No snorkeling here.

Try to go during dec. you won't be sorry. Bring food and drinks, because its you and the sandy beach white light powered sugar, and ocean blue as a kittens eyes just born. Honestly breathtaking.

This is a slice of heaven. Away from the crowds, you can enjoy the seclusion of the beach but have the typical outdoor recreation amenities found at military locations.

Came here for the day from Waikiki. Check before you come because the day we were here the public beach was closed. My son and husband are military so this review is for the section that is on the military base - you will need to be accompanied by someone with a military I.D. Having said that the beach is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, just gorgeous. The water is crystal clear and while the waves are strong they are on the smaller side which makes for fun body surfing. If you're not used to the ocean, use caution though as the undertow can be pretty strong - please keep a close eye on little ones. There is an attentive lifeguard there though. Our kids rented kayaks ($7/hr) and rode them in the surf - such fun! There is also a convenience store so we bought some ice and cold beverages to enjoy on the beach. Besides kayaks you can also rent boogie boards. You can stay overnight in cabins they have there - we've done that in the past, it was fun but a step above camping. This trip we stayed at the Hale Koa but it's an easy drive to come here for the day. Highly recommended!
