“Grew up in Laie and going to Laie Falls was a fun hike.”
Reviewed December 28, 2011

Laie falls is only good if the water is running. The views are nice. Students from the nearby BYUH campus love to hike this trail.

“Great hike!”
Reviewed December 18, 2011

Nice hike and I would recommend to bring some water and bug spray! I think it took us about 4-6 hrs to finish the hike! I would recommend if you stay in the North Shore area of Oahu:)

“Hot 6 mile hike to a 15 foot muddy waterfall”
Reviewed September 8, 2010

This hike while enjoyable for the avid hiker is not for everyone. It's 6 miles with a 1200 foot elevation change that is largely not shielded from the sun (hint: wear sunscreen if you're prone to burning). Also, it's an out-and-back...so no change in scenery after you've seen the waterfall. I would say 90 minutes to 2 hours to the falls depending on your pace and if you're with children. I would bring water regardless of your fitness level.

The waterfall is nothing special-just a 15 foot waterfall with a muddy pond underneath...some swim in the pond. If you do, you run the risk of leprosis. I recommend this hike if you enjoy the outdoors and are accustomed to moderate hikes with moderate elevation changes. There are certainly more beautiful waterfalls that require far less effort on Oahu and especially on the other islands.
