My wife and I have been to the Polynesian Cultural Center before and have loved it. While you can make it an afternoon and evening experience, we made it a late afternoon experience this time. Students from BYU Hawaii help to do authentic shows about the Pacific Islands, including Tonga, Samoa, Hawaii, Fiji and New Zealand. These are polished performances and presentations. The people that work there are incredibly friendly and nice, always saying hello, always ready to give you directions... The packages they offer for tickets are multiple, at multiple price ranges. Whatever you do there, staying for the night show called Ha: The Breath of Life is a must for us! It’s very well done, polished, interesting and inspiring. They have a nice luau, which is reasonably priced for what you get. Note: If you think the prices may be a little steep, remind yourself that if you were in Waikiki, doing the equivalent and visiting the same presentations and performances, a luau and an amazing night show, you would probably be spending more. They have transportation from Waikiki for a reasonable additional fee but if you’re renting a car anyway, it’s easy enough to drive there and back - and free parking! See the IMAX movie, too - it’s fun and you may opt to see it twice if it’s hot!

Lots of information and tourist items for visitors - the food we purchased was very good - just glad to see a clean facility

My husband and I loved our day at the Polynesian Cultural Center! We did the Ambassador Luau package and the guided tour was great for experiencing as much as possible in 1 day. There is so much to do here and it was fun for kids and adults. We loved the interactive games, presentations, and shows. I would highly recommend spending a day here! The luau was pretty average but the Ha Breath of Life show was fantastic.

The demonstrations and presentations in the six villages were great! Each of them were entertaining and informative. The big canoe show at 230 requires you to basically stop everything at 2 so you can find a place to sit and watch it. During that show, nothing else is really open. The luau, which starts at 4pm if you don't take the Ambassador package, is disappointing. Not terrible, but not great. Don't consider it a luau, its just eating food. Then there's the gap... The big show starts at 730pm. The villages close at 6. There's very little to do between 6 and 730. So you wander around the gift shops... We ultimately sat in our car for half an hour. Bottom line: pretty, and perhaps a bit over produced and failed to meet our expectations.

All the presentations were great. Enjoyed the learning of different island cultures, dance, and fun. Worth the trip.

Skip the Luau. Better tasting food at Subway and much cheaper.
