Owner description: One of the top Hawaii attractions includes the Polynesian Cultural Center, which features a 42-acre facility on the North Shore of Oahu. Founded in 1963, the nonprofit Center was created so that the students of nearby Brigham Young University Hawaii could work their way through college by sharing their island heritage with visitors. The students come from an area that covers approximately 12 million square miles of the Pacific Ocean.

Beautiful and informative. The activities were fun and even my 7 month old enjoyed herself! She loved the hula dancers in Tahiti. The luau was nice and the nightly show was wonderful and worth the admission!

“Crappy food but show was good!”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

We had the buffet and the show included in our tickets, we were told to get a tour guide on top of that too, the tour guide was not worth it. The buffet was disgusting, there were flies all around the buffet tables and the waiters did not care. It was not a traditional luau experience at all. In fact it was a variety of badly cooked dishes set up as a buffet. PCC is a private enterprise and everywhere you go, you are expected to pay money for everything, they served really bad food for dinner, and then we went to see the show, before, during and after the show, they had young teenagers selling chocolate bars and ice-cream to the audience. The actual show was good though, just don't eat their food!

“All in one”

Although it is a commercial operation it gives one an insight into several Polynesian cultures...I enjoyed wandering around...watching the different performances on the canal and the individual Island shows. The IMAX movie was fabulous - a must see. I made several purchases in the gift shop. The lunch buffet was passable.

“skip it!”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

A cultural center for indigenous people run by the local Mormon community, this place felt more like a stop at Epcot. Some of the shows are corny, some are decent, the exhibits are pure cheese. It is not worth the money or the hike to get out there. Skip it and the accompanying luau which was boring and sedate and the food at the buffet was awful and the service nonexistent, and it's a cattle herd of people being herded in and out. Spring for a beach side intimate luau and get a good guide pretty much anywhere else and learn more about Hawaii. If you're going to drive this way spend your time enjoying the North Shore and banzai pipeline, and stop at Angel's for Hawaiian ice.

“Always fun and educational too!”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

This time we went with the tour guide. It was nice to get extra information and make all the shows on time. Didn't miss even one. The late night show "Ha- the Breath of Life" was exceptional! MAYBE could be a LITTLE shorter, but all in all, well done and very impressive. It's a full day with the bus ride both ways, but we thought it was well worth it.
